For Halloween 2026, the creatures of Japanese folklore take over the Marais. From October 20 to 31, HIS Paris, at 2 Rue du Renard in the 4th arrondissement, grants carte blanche to illustrator Cécile Ricordeau for an exhibition devoted to yōkai.
The artist, also known as Cecillie, unveils thirty original works. In watercolor and Chinese ink, she reimagines spirits and otherworldly creatures, often placed in everyday settings. The experience carries on in the concept store, with stickers, stamps, and keychains drawn from her universe.
On Saturday, October 31, Cécile Ricordeau will greet visitors at a live, continuous vernissage open to all. For children aged seven and up, she will lead two workshops at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.: each participant can make their own yōkai mask. Sessions are limited to twelve participants and require registration on HIS Paris's website.
This showcase invites Halloween to be explored through drawing and the figures of Japanese folklore. The works are on display during the concept store’s hours: Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 19:30, and Saturday from 11:00 to 19:00. The venue is closed on Sundays.
