In Paris, the curious looking for a free escape, fans of contemporary art, weekend strollers, and culture-hungry idea-hunters have a date from Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31, 2026 for the 37th edition of the Portes Ouvertes des Ateliers d’Artistes de Belleville. The event promises an inviting, behind-the-scenes immersion into the world of creation, across more than 100 studios tucked away in courtyards, streets, passages, and corners of the neighborhood.
Straddling the 10th, 11th, 19th and 20th arrondissements, Belleville has become a playground for the curious, the enthusiasts and collectors! You can chat with artists, grasp a technique, flip through a sketchbook, come face to face with a work still in the making, or leave with a piece bought at studio prices.
For this 2026 edition, more than 170 artists and collectives are involved, with 103 workshops announced across the district. Painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, installation, ceramics, drawing, textile art, and even silkscreen: the disciplines represented provide a rich cross-section of contemporary creation. Technical demonstrations, concerts, performances, and screenings are also planned, in addition to encounters with the artists.
Entry is free and open to the public. The public information desk will be set up at the Gallery of the Belleville Artists’ Studios, located at 1 Francis-Picabia Street, 75020 Paris, near the Couronnes metro station. The workshop map and artist profiles have been available online since April 15, 2026, while a paper map will be available on-site and in the studios, with a suggested donation of €1.
