Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle's Cyclop reveals its secrets in the heart of the forest of Milly-la-Forêt in Essonne. This extraordinary and monumental sculpture can be discovered or rediscovered with an original and varied artistic program.

Fancy a cultural stroll without leaving theParis region? Head to the woods of Milly-la-Forêt, in Essonne, for the new season of Cyclop, a monumental metal sculpture created by the couple Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely.

The Cyclop reopened to the public in May 2022, after being given a new lease on life, at the instigation of the Cnap (Centre national des arts plastiques), following a year of work and 1.5 million euros invested by numerous patrons.
You can once again enter this colossal and collective work, and discover fantastic mechanics as well as unusual works by about fifteen artist friends of the couple. This utopian monument, unique in the history of art, has benefited from two major restorations: the 325 m2 of mirrors in Nikki de Saint Phalle's La Face auxmiroirs, and Eva Aeppli's L'hommage aux déportés. This mastodon, inaugurated by President Mitterand in 1994, 22.5 m high and 350 tons of steel, is back in service for a new edition in the spring of 2023.

For 10 years, the Cyclop Association has opened the site to contemporary creation. It has become a place of connection between nature, the arts (plastic arts, music, visual arts, performance) and curious visitors. Conferences, workshops, film screenings, artistic performances or even tastings, the program is varied and creative, just like the artistic genius of the legendary couple.

So, shall we go for a little artywalk in the forest?
