Have you always dreamed of infiltrating places that are off-limits to the public ? Here's an opportunity for adventure-seeking explorers! Just outside Paris, in the town of Vincennes, lies France's largest surviving royal fortress: the Château de Vincennes. This medieval fortress, famous for housing the highest medieval keep in Europe, is also home to a sublime chapel in the flamboyant Gothic style.
Built in 1379, the Sainte-Chapelle at Château de Vincennes was commissioned by Charles V, King of France at the time. Although built on a single level, it was inspired by the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris, also known as the monument to a thousand stained-glass windows, and located on the Île de la Cité.
On February 15 and March 15, 2025, you'll have the opportunity to discover this historic treasure in a whole new way! You'll be able to take a closer look at the nave's 15-meter-high framework. It has remained virtually unchanged since the reign of Henri II in the 16th century.
Please note, however, that this is a fairly strenuous tour, not accessible to PRMs, and not recommended for the frail, claustrophobic or vertigo-prone. Accessible to children aged 8 and over, this tour has no elevator, and takes us through narrow spaces.
