Finally, the English gardens bring a touch of whimsy, breaking up all that neatly ordered nature. Here, flowers, trees and shrubs are free to grow wherever they like, creating a sense of a wild, pristine garden. A very pleasant stroll, with irises, roses, or clematis, landscapes that undoubtedly inspired painters of the era.

Exhibition “Crossed Visions, Van Gogh in Heritage” showcasing the work of the middle school students from the artist-in-residence program with Sandrine Gatignol.
As Van Gogh once wrote, “When you truly love nature, you find beauty everywhere,” the students from Suzanne Lenglen Middle School in Persan — guided by artist Sandrine Gatignol — observed and sketched the landscapes of Auvers on site, including the trees and their bark.
They explored printmaking, producing monotypes and engravings. The exhibition presents this body of work, plus a collaborative piece: an installation evoking a garden inspired by the motifs and shapes of bark, offering a new gaze on an imagined world.
Nature Walk in the Castle Park
Take part in a nature walk through the castle park to discover the full range of fauna and flora present in its diverse environments: the wood, the meadows, the French formal garden, and the enclosed garden.
CONCERT OF THE SAXBACK ENSEMBLE / Lunchtime festival at the Château d’Auvers: the intimacy of chamber music, the power of a small orchestra.
A one-of-a-kind sextet, Saxback is a cocktail of wind instruments (almost all born from Adolphe Sax’s inventive genius) — saxophones, saxhorns, and clarinets. This unconventional mix of woodwinds and brass performs both transcriptions of Bach, Prokofiev, Debussy, or Bernstein and bespoke works created for the ensemble, featuring composers such as A. Markeas, T. Probst, N. Gouin, E. Goubert, M. Stefanelli, and many others.
