To celebrate the 67th anniversary of the Fifth Republic, a number of events are being organized throughout the country, focusing on the legal profession and its institutions, to introduce the general public to the workings of this great machine. On the evening of October 2, 2025, take advantage of la Nuit du Droit, a free event open to all, to visit institutions, meet members of parliament, magistrates, lawyers or notaries, and take part in unique activities.
On October 4, 1958, France entered the Fifth Republic with Charles de Gaulle as its first president. That's why, since 2017, this national event has taken place on this day (not this year, due to the calendar), as a reminder that the law protects freedoms and certifies the proper functioning of the country's democratic life. The program for the evening, in Paris and the Île-de-France region, includes an eloquence contest, mock trial, exhibition, film-debate, theater, conference and numerous round tables.

The trial of Missak Manouchian, known as "l'Affiche Rouge", took place in February 1944. Manouchian, a survivor of the Armenian genocide of 1915, had fought for the liberation of France during the Occupation, at the head of an FTP group. This trial, which the Germans wanted to be exemplary, was nothing more than a parody of justice. But the defendants used it as a platform to express their love of France and freedom. Basile Ader brings this trial to the stage, even though no trace of it has survived.
