Songkhan or Songkran, also known as the Buddhist New Year, is one of the most important festivals in Thailand: it marks a new beginning, a new year in the Buddhist community. At this time of year, Thailand always experiences its hottest day, so the Songkhan festival was an opportunity to go to the temple to receive blessings. In the Buddhist religion, water is said to ward off bad luck and purify: year after year, this tradition has become - water being within the reach of children too - the world's biggest water fight.

Wat Thammatip, the Buddhist pagoda and temple in Moissy-Cramayel, will be celebrating water on Sunday April 14, 2024. What's on the program?
