In Seine-et-Marne (77), at Nemours, a familiar venue returns with the sun for our utmost pleasure. The Terrace at Moulin de Nemours, guinguette on the banks of the Loing, reopened this April 2026 for a new summer season. Set on the historic site of the Moulin de Nemours, rue Sanson, this outdoor terrace now welcomes you 7 days a week, from 11am to 11pm on weekdays and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, with a stunning view of the medieval Nemours castle.
Created in 2021, the Terrasse du Moulin de Nemours has, in just a few years, become a go-to spot for riverfront outings in Île-de-France. The concept is simple and effective: an ephemeral outdoor bar, sun loungers, tables and chairs tucked right by the water, and an open-air food market bringing together several restaurateurs. The setting is what gives the place its charm. On one side, the Loing flows gently; on the other, the silhouette of the medieval fortress of Nemours rises proudly on the bank since the 12th century. As the April season kicks off, closing times can be adjusted to the weather, which is good news when the sun decides to shine generously.
Here you won’t find haute cuisine, and that’s not the point. The open-air food market offers a varied, friendly lineup: burgers, Thai street stand, pizza shop, crepes, charcuterie and cheese boards, salads... enough to craft a meal that suits your mood, all while soaking up the sun and the view of the castle. To be honest with you: at the start of the season, service can be a little slow. best to arrive early, or decide you’re there to take a breather rather than to eat on the quick. That’s really the spirit of the place.
The Nemours guinguette is about more than just food. A petanque court is at visitors' disposal, perfect for pinging the cochonnet between sips while the kids enjoy the surrounding grass. Concerts, disco nights and karaoke frequently pace the evenings, especially on weekends.
This loing-side guinguette is perfect for families with kids, who will enjoy the green space, the pétanque court, and the freedom to build their meal at the food market to suit everyone's tastes. Groups of friends after a relaxed outing in Seine-et-Marne will find plenty to love, especially in the evenings with concerts and activities. Couples seeking a romantic setting with a view of a medieval castle won’t be disappointed either. That said, this spot isn’t for those in a hurry or expecting traditional restaurant service: here you take your time, soak up the sun, and accept that the venue’s magic justifies a longer wait.
After a drink or a small plate, you cross the nearby bridge to reach the Île du Perthuis, a Natura 2000 site. This five-hectare oasis in the heart of Nemours offers calm, cool air and a unique view of the river and the castle. Benches tucked under the trees, not a sound... a true nature break, just steps from the terrace. To round out the day, it’s also worth wandering through the medieval village of Nemours, a Village of Character, with its cobbled lanes, a Gothic church and stately townhouses sleeping under the centuries. The town is accessible from Paris Gare de Lyon in less than an hour.
The Terrace of the Moulin de Nemours has been open since April 2026 for the summer season, Monday to Thursday and Sunday from 11am to 11pm, and Friday and Saturday from 11am to midnight. It sits on Rue Sanson, on the Moulin de Nemours site, in Nemours (77140). A venue for everyone: families with kids, groups of friends after a laid-back outing, nature and heritage lovers. People come for the vibe, the views, and the joy of spending an afternoon with their feet practically in the water, without leaving Seine-et-Marne.
