During the annual Jardin Festival, which takes place on the first weekend of June, dozens of gardens open their gates to the public for this special event. From sprawling parks and historic castles in Île-de-France to private hotels, family gardens, and renowned rosary gardens… there’s something for everyone. Best of all, there are activities for all ages with the diverse programme of the 2023 Jardin Festival. Guided tours, discovery walks, nature hikes, exhibitions, concerts, entertainment, and installations… all that’s left is to pick the perfect garden for an afternoon or an entire day of exploration!
The House of Life in Roses is definitely one of the most romantic spots in Île-de-France to date: this small private garden, charmingly named "Life in Roses," truly lives up to its name. Located in Montarlot, a commune within the Morêt-Loing-et-Orvanne community, this little hidden gem, kept secret for the most part, opens its doors only a few times a year, including during Rendez-vous aux Jardins. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a bucolic stroll across the region, in the expansive Seine-et-Marne department, and take a break from everyday life for a day, just a short distance from the medieval town of Morêt-sur-Loing. An ideal spot for cycling or hiking adventures!
