Our favourite autumn walks in Paris and the Île-de-France region

In autumn, we love to watch the leaves slowly fall to carpet the sidewalks, streets and large parks of Paris... With the return of slightly cooler temperatures at the end of September, it's time to get out your raincoat and hiking boots and discover the region's beautiful autumn landscapes.

No sooner have the temperatures dropped than you're back to the smell of open fires, cosy evenings in your apartment, cravings for hot chocolate and comfort food: this is it,autumn is well and truly upon us, with its melancholy airs and longing for time to come.

So what could be better than to discover the region's beautiful landscapes decked out in their finest gold, ochre, orange and red? Just a Navigo pass away, accessible by metro or RER, the capital and the Île-de-France region boast fabulous green treasures - state-owned forests, woods, parks, villages - to be discovered especially in autumn, when the days are getting longer. Accessible to beginners, and sometimes strollers or people with reduced mobility (PRM), these very easy hikes or short walks are perfect for a Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning or Wednesday, and if the weather's fine, you can even take the opportunity to pack a picnic! Put on your raincoat and a pair of good walking shoes, and off you go for a lovely autumn stroll through the region!
