The town of Fontainebleau has no shortage of races: some are equestrian, with the equestrian competitions it hosts, others are pedestrian, with the Foulées Impériales... More unusual still, you can attend a soapbox race, organized on May 19, 2024 in the streets of the town of Chartrettes, right next to the imperial city.
After the town of Dourdan, in the Essonne département, the town of Chartrettes in the Seine-et-Marne region is now offering you the chance to take part in or attend its unusual soapbox race for the 2nd edition of the event. What's on the program? Twenty teams will compete in their homemade machines, and may the best car win!
As a reminder, a soapbox is a small wheeled vehicle that can be driven, designed to accommodate at least one person. No two soapboxes are alike, and that's what makes this race so special: everyone has to build their own racecar!
On Sunday, May 19 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), join us on rue du Général de Gaulle in Chartrettes for a great day of festivities. There will also be a refreshment stand offering food and drink. Come and cheer on the brave competitors at this great soapbox race on Sunday, May 19, 2024!
