The Rendez-vous aux Jardins are an exceptional opportunity to rediscover nature through immersive activities. At the Bassin de la Courance in the Yvelines, these events take on a special dimension. Located in Maurepas, the basin offers an idyllic setting for observing local wildlife, particularly birds. On Sunday June 2, 2024, an ornithological walk is organized to allow us to connect fully with the surrounding nature.

The Bassin de la Courance at Maurepas, located in the Yvelines department, is the perfect place for nature lovers to relax and enjoy themselves. Accessible all year round, this enchanting site offers a peaceful, verdant setting.

The basin is a veritable jewel of greenery, surrounded by majestic trees and shady paths. Whether you're looking for a family outing, a picnic with friends, or simply to enjoy the peace and quiet, bassin de la Courance has something for everyone. The site is well laid out, with relaxation areas, children's playgrounds and even facilities for sports enthusiasts.

The basin's biodiversity is remarkable. It is home to a variety of birds, fish and aquatic plants. This balanced ecosystem makes it an ideal setting for the Rendez-vous aux Jardins. The pond also attracts nature photographers who come to capture its beauty.

Access to the Courance basin is easy, thanks to nearby parking and well-maintained paths. For the more sporty, several hiking trails pass through the site, allowing you to explore the surrounding area. In summer, the basin becomes a popular spot for visitors to recharge their batteries away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

For this event, we're off to enjoy a bird walk guided by Solen Boivin, an expert nature animator. Scheduled for 10:30 a.m., this walk promises a unique experience, where you'll learn to identify different species of birds through their songs and behaviors.

On this 2 km loop, we'll be putting our senses to the service of the birds. How do we observe them? What are the key criteria for identifying them? Why not listen to them too? Do their songs give us any clues? Finches, warblers, robins, chickadees, woodpeckers and a few waterbirds will be on hand. This walk, open to the general public, is a great opportunity to discover birds in a magnificent natural setting.
