Women's Rights Day 2025: feminist programming at Communale and Ground Control

From March 4 to 9, 2025, La Communale and Ground Control celebrate International Women's Rights Day with a week of feminist events and activities, many of them free.

From March 4 to 9, 2025, La Communale and Ground Control's third-party venues and food courts will be celebrating women's rights on International Women's Day, the 8th, with feminist-themed events open to all, some of which are free - but don't forget to register! The event will showcase the skills of craftswomen, comedians, artists, brewers, cooks and many other inspiring women.

À Communale

  • Tuesday, March 4: 9th edition of La Commedy / 8pm - from 11 euros

The stand-up event organized by Waly Dia returns with a 100% female line-up featuring Sofia Belabbes, Marine Agin, Mamari and Nadège Sans Gène.

  • Wednesday, March 5: Feminist blind-test / 8pm - Free

Feminist blind test organized by Verveine and Gender Games from 8pm to 9pm, followed by a DJ set.

  • Thursday, March 6: 100% Female Extra Breaststroke Evening / 8pm - Free

Extra Brasse invites brewers to showcase their creations, and DJ String Platine provides the musical backdrop.

  • Saturday, March 8: Plaine Commune Artisan Market / 10am - 6pm - Free admission

To mark International Women's Rights Day, the town of Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine is honoring its women artisans with a Marché de l'Artisanat Féminin, showcasing the skills and creations of craftswomen from the Seine-Saint-Denis region. On the program: more than 25 stands selling upcycling, ceramics, crochet clothing, herbal teas, flowers, jewelry, paintings and more.

  • Saturday March 8: Syrian cooking workshop by Refugee Food / 2pm - 4pm - 15 euros

Cooking workshop with Syrian chef Maha Achkar, a Syrian cook at Communale, to prepare a Syrian menu followed by a tasting in the hall.

At Ground Control

  • Friday, March 7: Spill the tea, the March 8 before party / 6pm-00:30pm - Free

A 100% all-female program awaits you with inspiring, funny and talented artists: round tables, stand-ups, show cases, DJ sets, blind tests and lots of entertainment: sign-making workshop for the next day's march, participative fresco, etc.

To mark March 8, 2025, International Women's Rights Day, Nous Toutes Paris Nord invites you to an after-demonstration at Ground Control. On the program: meet up and celebrate the joy of activism around association stands, concerts, dj sets and stand-ups.

  • Saturday, March 8: Mazan trial: Resistance to rape by Mathilde Levesque / 5pm-7pm - Free admission

Avoiding the facts, minimizing their seriousness, creating alternative truths: the words spoken at the Mazan rape trial may have seemed like an exercise in evasion. For three months, one of the major challenges of the hearings was to get back in touch with reality. By analyzing the speeches of the various parties, Mathilde Levesque sheds light on our collective difficulty in naming and therefore recognizing sexist and sexual violence.

  • Sunday, March 9: Purple After - 12pm-8pm - Free

Le Gros Marché is teaming up with Inspire Festival, one of the only street art festivals to include parity in its programming, for a day at Ground Control. The artistic performances start at noon with Pia and Semilu, who will be working on two murals in the hall. At 4pm, a talk entitled "Faut-il être nue pour entrer dans les musées?" will be held in the Salle du Charolais. This hour-long discussion will address the place of women in culture, and provide an opportunity to reflect together on their roles in the artistic world.
