The Ile de loisirs de Créteil (94), the perfect spot for a day of swimming in the open air

The Créteil leisure island or Créteil Leisure Island invites you to enjoy its outdoor activities. A nautical center, a wave pool, fishing, running... Open year-round, this 62-hectare site built around the Lake Créteil offers a vast green space in Val-de-Marne.

The Base de loisirs de Créteil surrounds a 40-hectare artificial lake and offers sporting activities, cultural and outdoor leisure options. A former sand-quarry site, the lake is now at the heart of a relaxed area frequented by families, athletes and walkers. A smart plan when it's hot, misting fans are available in the park.

If swimming in the lake is banned by a prefectural order, the wave pool offers a way to cool off during the summer season. For 2026, opening is slated for the summer, with access only by reservation.

On the leisure centre programme:

• Swimming area: The wave pool features a 1,310 m² aquatic space with a wave basin, a water slide, fountains, water games and a lawn. Access to the leisure base is free, but pool access is paid and must be booked in advance. As for prices, €10 for a full-day, €7.50 reduced, and €1.50 for children under 4. For the afternoon, from 12:30 p.m., the rate is €8.50 full, €6 reduced and €1.50 for under-4s.
  • Official hours: from mid-June to July, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays 11:00–19:00; from July to late August, Tuesday to Sunday 11:00–19:00.
• Sand sports courts: Accessible with the wave pool entry, they allow beach volleyball, beach handball and beach soccer.
• Water sports area: The nautical base offers activities such as sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding or catamaran, with equipment rental on summer weekends unless a special event is taking place.
• Picnics and dining: Several picnic areas with tables are available. Food outlets can also be deployed at the leisure base, depending on the season.
• Fishing: Fishing is allowed on the ponds, with a fishing permit.
• The Nature House: This information center promotes the discovery of the birds, trees and flora of the leisure base. The Nature & Society association runs workshops, exhibitions, evenings, training and nature outings there.
• Accrobranche: The Créteil Leisure Island also hosts Accrocamp Créteil, a treetop course near the lake with zip-lines and tree-top workshops.
