Hear ye, hear ye! On September 13 and 14, 2025, the gentle village of Mériel(Val-d'Oise, 95) will be stepping back in time and donning its colts for a colorful weekend: Les Mériévales!
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Pêcherie district (at the end of rue du Général de Gaulle) is transformed into a lively medieval village, with feasting, troubadours and sharpened swords. On the banks of the river Oise, there'll be scrap metal, feasting, storytelling and dancing... In short, a whole world of yesteryear comes to life, organized by the town and the Association des Amis de l'Abbaye du Val.
On the program: historic encampments, re-enactments, demonstrations of ancient skills, medieval storytelling and dance, craft stalls, taverns, entertainment for marmosets, non-stop shows and, of course, music from centuries past to get the coats of mail swaying.
Whether you're a gentleman or a gentlewoman, whether you're in costume or not, you're invited to immerse yourself in this open-air knightly atmosphere, with its pounding drums and jubilant tumblers.
Les Mériévales de Mériel is an opportunity to celebrate and forge epic memories with family and friends. On September 13 & 14, 2025, the heart of Mériel will beat to the rhythm of the Middle Ages. Just one motto: come, see, feast!
