To celebrate the last days of August and the vacations as they should be, head to Fontainebleau for the Saint Louis Day celebration! A breath of fresh air to enjoy with the family along the banks of the grand canal of the Château de Fontainebleau, on 30 August 2026, with many free activities that replace the fireworks, scrapped due to fire risk. With this new format, enjoy a vast funfair and bucolic festival, for a day between water and skies!
From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., we settle in for a big, relaxed picnic on the grass, swing on vintage swings, pedal along the canal, and enjoy some beautiful performances — all at no cost. A fine day ahead to create a trove of unforgettable memories with your loved ones!
Come join the crafting workshops where you can build your own wind-powered object. Groups of 10 for 15-minute sessions.
Exhibition: an aerial scenography of over 900 decorative components—weathervanes, spinning hot-air balloons, themed wind turbines, 3D air sleeves and metallic wind sculptures—will be set up on the ground.
Water jousting demonstration by the Saint-Mammès jousters, a spectacle that blends precision, folklore and competitive spirit, carried on since 1884
Local heritage takes center stage at the Grand Parterre of the Château (Sully pavilion side), where reenactors bring Saint Louis and his era back to life, accompanied by music from Duo Diapason. The sequence closes with the enthronement ceremony of the Confrérie du Brie de Melun, a delicious nod to Bellifontain heritage.
With their infectious energy and offbeat vibe, the theatrical brass band Les Grooms will inject a festive, welcoming atmosphere into the event. Where music, street theatre and improvisation meet, the artists will roam through the crowd, sparking interactions, surprises and shared moments. Their dynamism and closeness to the audience will turn every encounter into a lively, convivial experience.
Join us for a convivial, festive moment in an exceptional setting. To create an elegant, warm atmosphere, the dress code is white and gold. Bring your own picnic basket or take advantage of the on-site catering offered by the food trucks at the event.
With the group SUNNY SIDE (a quintet featuring double bass, guitar, drums, saxophone, and a vocalist).
The Arlequins Company presents an interactive live-sculpture performance. A sculptor creates in real time personalized living sculptures in interaction with the audience. A visual, humorous, and participatory performance.
There will be painters at easels on hand to capture a fleeting moment of life around the Grand Canal.
