Saint-Denis Open Farm: a nature escape for families near Paris

The open farm in Saint-Denis is like an oasis in the middle of the city: just a few minutes' walk from metro line 13, it's a place where nature seems to have reclaimed its rights, with fields full of vegetables, large greenhouses and, above all, animals.

A farm right in the middle of Saint-Denis: it was a daring challenge, but since its opening, the Open Farm haswelcomed young and old alike throughout the week, weekends and vacations, for a real immersion in the world of the farm with the whole family. It's an opportunity for children living in the city to discover a world they don't come across on a daily basis, through visits andcreative or culinaryworkshops.

Along with the Saint-Cyr l'École and Sartrouville farms, the Saint-Denis open farm is part of the Gally farm network, which offers pick-your-own produce, crop and animal tours for the general public. All year round, the Saint-Denis open farm welcomes children aged 3 to 12 accompanied by their parents, uncles, aunties, grandparents...

You'll meet the farm's chickens, rabbits, pigs, goats and other furry and feathered residents, to the delight of the little ones! It's also an opportunity to discover the market gardening techniques used on the farm, to learn more about how fruit, vegetables and aromatic herbs are grown in the Ferme Ouverte 's large greenhouses, and to take part in creative and culinary workshops to make your own bread or create small objects from recycled materials...

Seasonally, the farm’s programming varies, with special Christmas activities for the holidays, even though some workshops—such as bread making—are offered year-round.

Before you go, swing by the Gally Market where you can pick up fruit, vegetables, and farm-fresh products grown right at the Saint-Denis farm! Expect to pay €5 per child for a workshop, €5 per child for farm admission, and €5.50 per adult from age 12. A reduced rate is also available, at €3.50 (for both children and adults).
