Rendez-vous aux Jardins is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Culture throughout France, as an ode to the natural and cultural heritage of our beautiful French gardens. Throughout the weekend, the general public has the opportunity to discover both public and private gardens by taking part in guided tours, workshops or events (initiations, demonstrations...). Come and discover the extraordinary gardens of Paris (and its suburbs), and enjoy a moment of relaxation with family and friends!
The Jardin des Tuileries is a royal garden created for Catherine de Médicis in the 16th century, before being transformed by André Le Nôtre for Louis XIV, between 1666 and 1680. Marked by the vicissitudes of history, the Tuileries were renovated by landscape architects Pascal Cribier and Louis Benech during the renovation of the Louvre Museum.
It's a garden steeped in history, the privileged setting for great moments in French history, from the Revolution of 1789 to the Commune in 1871, but also a landscape creation from the very end of the 20th century. A veritable open-air museum, it houses copies of ancient sculptures, modern works and some of the most contemporary creations: it's here that you'll come across a reproduction of Rodin's Baiser, not to mention its breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower andArc de Triomphe.
The Rendez-vous aux Jardins 2023 is an opportunity to reclaim this royal garden on June 2, 3 and 4, with a wide range of activities:
