Opened just a few months ago, La Canonnière is already attracting a host of customers in search of good wine and good food, in a very warm atmosphere.

We'd been eyeing this little wine cellar for a while. We finally pushed open the door and went to test La Canonnière for you, on rue de la Fontaine au roi in the 11th arrondissement.

As soon as you enter, it's impossible to miss what you're here for: wine! The wall is lined with beautifully labeled bottles, showing that we're very much into organic, natural and small estate wines. All bottles are sold at caviste prices (with bottles starting at 8€), with a 10€ supplement if you choose to drink on the premises. A selection of wines by the glass is also available to vary the pleasures.

Founded by three friends, La Canonnière is all about good food, whether you want to delight your palate or your gullet. In all simplicity, you can treat yourself in an ultra-warm atmosphere, thanks to an impeccable welcome.

Perched on the bar chairs, we taste a glass of "French Wine is not Dead", a surprising white wine with a beautiful cloudy yellow color and a punk label. To accompany this, we choose from the à la carte menu (which changes ultra regularly, depending on the products of the moment) grilled sèches with beet tartare and goat's cheese sauce, as well as beef bourguignon à l'italienne. In both cases, a real treat! There's nothing too surprising on our plates, but a comforting cuisine reminiscent of Sunday family lunches. We finish with a sweet touch: a chocolate mousse infused with chai tea and a lemon cream topped with candied clementines, yum!

If you just want to nibble, La Canonnière also offers generous portions of cheese, as well as numerous starters that can easily be shared. In addition, lunchtime menus are available at 15€ (starter-main course or main course-dessert) and 18€ (the whole deal!).

Finally, on Mondays and Tuesdays, wewelcome chefs and winemakers for themed evenings. For example, Abat les clichés with chef Masahide Ikuta for an evening dedicated to offal, or Saucez n'est pas tromper to rediscover sauce from every angle!

This is a wonderful discovery that we warmly recommend!
