Autumn has barely set in on the streets of Paris, and we're already learning from Le Canard Enchainé of theforthcoming opening of a venue that's already making us want to be back under the Parisian sun next summer. La Bellevilloise, the sprawling concert hall in the capital's 20th arrondissement that doubles as a weekend brunch restaurant, is set to open a new rooftop terrace next spring!
Spanning 170m2, this future summer terrace should be able to accommodate up to 160 people. A metal staircase, currently under construction, will provide access; and upstairs, a terrace and covered bar with music should be open until midnight.
Despite all these precautions, our colleagues in Le Canard Enchainé revealed this week that local residents and close neighbors of La Bellevilloise are already worried about future noise pollution, both day and night.
And the magazine reminds us that La Bellevilloise is still embroiled in another project against which nearby residents are fighting: the construction, at 88 rue de Ménilmontant, of student accommodation in partnership with Paris Habitat, coupled with a restaurant, boutique, café, recording studio and spa, which is not to everyone's taste in this 20th arrondissement district.
More on the rooftop later!
