L'Atelier Geneviève, a café where you can enjoy ceramic workshops

For DIY enthusiasts, L'Atelier Geneviève is a new kind of café that has just opened its doors in the 11th arrondissement, as a ceramics café. The first of its kind in the capital.

The concept? L'Atelier Geneviève is a café where you can drink organic tea, ethnic coffee, craft beer or organic wine while nibbling on sweet and savory organic cakes. But L'Atelier Geneviève is also a ceramics workshop where you can customize your own pieces on the spot!

In short, you come to the studio without an appointment, choose a raw ceramic object such as a bowl, plate, vase, teapot or soap dish. You learn about the different ceramic painting techniques , choose your colors and paints, and then it's up to you!

You customize your object yourself, like a grown-up, and once finished, the L'Atelier Geneviève team enamels your object and fires it for 24 hours in a kiln at over 1000°. The next day, you come back to pick up your handmade object and show it to all your friends, saying "I made it myself", or give it as a gift to a loved one (for Christmas, for example!).

L'Atelier Geneviève also offers workshops, by appointment, for birthdays, seminars and hen parties, as well as ceramic aperitifs (Thursdays and Fridays) and ceramic brunches every Sunday.

Our opinion on the ceramicafé: 

When you enter this cozy ceramicafé, you embark on a 2-hour relaxation session where you can take your time and settle down to a creative activity that is suitable for everyone. No matter your level, the team will show you the different techniques, explain how to do them, and remain available from the beginning to the end of the workshop.

When it comes to hot drinks, you can choose between "classic" coffees and hot chocolates or more original drinks, such as matcha lattes and detox fruit juices... there's a wide choice and the products are locally sourced.

The workshop also offers ceramic aperitifs every Thursday and Friday and "Brunch & Ceramic" brunches every Sunday. Please note: once you have painted your ceramic piece, you must wait a week before coming to collect it!
