Ritz Paris Le Comptoir, the new Ritz patisserie where you can now enjoy François Perret's creations, has opened its doors. This time around, there's no ephemeral little counter, as we saw last summer or during the recent festive season, no, no! It's a full-blown patisserie at 38 rue Cambon, in place of the Ritz Bar, the palace's former bar. Open every day from 8am to 7pm, it's sure to please.
Following the example of chef Cédric Grolet's patisserie at Le Meurice, the Ritz is now home to a new den of gourmet delights, under the aegis of its famous Chef in a Truck. And with the title of World's Best Restaurant Pastry Chef 2019, you're in good hands for a treat!
The venue not only features a patisserie, but also a tea room with several tables where you can relax and enjoy the chef's cakes and drinks.
The new patisserie is accessible from rue Cambon, but also from inside the hotel, for guests of the palace. In this immaculate setting of white and beige (historically chosen as a color to give a good complexion), arches reminiscent of the architecture of Place Vendôme and Bohemian crystal lighting add refinement and modernity. Pastry chef François Perret has created an original, dedicated menu. So, what can you find at the Ritz Paris Le Comptoir?
For this spot, the chef has imagined lengthy viennoiseries. Both the croissant and the pain au chocolat change shape to give you the same pleasure from start to finish. Chocolate all the way and croissants as crisp at the beginning as at the end - that's the promise of the place. There's also a breakfast option at €11, including viennoiserie and a hot drink. Other long sandwiches include the Saint-Honoré and sandwiches designed to offer more fillings than bread, like the Caesar version below.
There are also madeleines of all kinds, simple or giant cookies, and hot and cold pastry-style drinks, for a drink version of the chef's pastries.
At the entrance, a grocery corner offers wines to accompany the sweets, pastry-scented candles and even an apron signed by Chef François Perret.
Last but not least, it's also the place to go for Chef Perret's iconic pastries, which have already won the hearts of sweet tooths everywhere. Most of them are available in formats for two. Marble cake, raspberry milk Ritz, milk brioche, cheesecake, chocolate bar and strawberry tart were all present at the start-up.
So, what are you waiting for?
