To meet the cutest cats in Paris's 15th arrondissement, head to Chat Mallows Café, a super-cozy cat café! Enjoy cuddles, donuts and hot feline drinks.
A veritable phenomenon in Japan, cat bars have been inviting themselves to the capital over the past few years. After the Café des Chats, the Chat Mallows Café opened in 2015, in a place run by cat lovers that looks more like a relaxation area than a tea room! And mind you, the felines are at home here, so you can cuddle them if they're willing, or sip your wonderful hot chocolate while watching them.
In a relaxed atmosphere, you'll find a dozen free-roaming residents, some rescued, others belonging to the manager. Some of the cats are very friendly, and come in for petting as soon as you sit down. On our table, we enjoyed the presence of Beta, a beautiful black and white tomcat, who makes himself widely understood with his meows. The ideal place if you're in need of purr therapy!
On the gourmet side, small and large stomachs alike will find something to suit them, from hot drinks to pastries covered in whipped cream! For a softer version, the chocolate charmand combines hot chocolate and chocolate donut for a divine snack. And if you want even more, take a Yoda Delight in a large jar, for even more indulgence! Cats are everywhere, even in your snacks, with a little paw made on the hot chocolate and plates that are a little kitsch, but adorable!
In short, a charming and comfortable address, ideal for a moment of tenderness and calm, if you're not allergic to cats, of course! And let's not forget the pastries, which are well worth the detour and do your spirits a world of good. If you don't want to eat and just enjoy the feline presence, you can pay 5.80 euros to stay for a while, but don't forget to book before you come, to make sure you have a place.
