Flan lovers beware - and we know there are a lot of you! What if, instead of running around the streets of Paris, you could find the capital's best flans all in one place? For the third time and to our great delight, Fou de Pâtisserie returns with its Festival du Flan in its stores on rue Montorgueil and rue des Martyrs, on Saturday December 2, 2023!
Just imagine! Once again this year, for the duration of one day, a dozen or so flans from the pastry shops we love, fromartisans with recognized expertise and from the greatest palace chefs, are brought together at Fou de Pâtisserie to the delight of sweet tooths. Something to drool over!
You'll find traditional vanilla flans, of course, but also more original ones, such as pistachio and orange blossom flans, black sesame flans, and even more unusual creations like this marbled flan by the great Matthieu Carlin, pastry chef at the Hôtel de Crillon, or these flan croquettes by our favorite Quentin Lechat. There's sure to be something for everyone. The hardest part will be choosing!
This year, all these pastry creations have one thing in common: they are all taken exclusively from François Blanc's book FLAN, published this autumn by Editions Ducasse. The culinary journalist will be on hand at the rue de Montorgueil boutique at 10 a.m. for a signing session of his terribly gourmand book, on sale on site.
Creations to discover at Fou de Pâtisserie's Festival du Flan 2023:
In short, if you're on a never-ending quest to find the best flan in Paris, if you've never had the chance to try a palace flan, or if you just feel like eating a flan farandole with friends, here's the date to mark in your diary: Saturday December 2, 2023 at Fou de Pâtisserie Montorgueil and Martyrs from 10am to 8pm.
Beware, as every year, there may not be enough for everyone. So get there early!
