For two years now, Groot la Tourte, the restaurant run by former Top Chef contestantsHugo Riboulet (winner of Top Chef 2023) and Albane Auvray (contestant on Top Chef 2023), has been delighting workers, residents, and tourists in the Sentier district of Paris. At the end of 2025 and until March 4, 2026, Groot la Tourte is opening a pop-up restaurant on the first floor of La Samaritaine.
Using fresh ingredients, Groot la Tourte revisits the pithiviers, a classic French dish, in a street food version, and also offers a seafood version made with trout. Also on the menu are the Classic pie with chicken breast and farmhouse pork stuffing, the Gourmet pie with beef sausage, onions, and raclette cheese, and the Veggie pie for vegetarians, with butternut squash and mushrooms.
As a seasonal treat, the Groot la Tourte pop-up at La Samaritaine also offers a selection of hot dogs, salads, and grilled cheese sandwiches. The hardest part will definitely be choosing!
So, if you've never stepped inside Groot la Tourte in the 2nd arrondissement, now is the time to discover the wonderful creationsof Hugo Riboulet and Albane Auvray at La Samaritaine, to eat in or take away!
