Trendy bars

Paris is full of trendy bars and even has some of the most hyped establishments in the world. Sortiraparis has put together a list of the capital's trendiest bars.

A very trendy definition since fashion became (or returned to) fashion... (Ouch, this is getting complicated!) In short, ever since Jean Jacques Rousseau (the guy who made us all fail our high school exams) declared that "fashion dominates the provinces, but Parisians dominate fashion," Paris has naturally soared to the heights of hype-attitude, never to come down again.

Hence the increase in prices, deserved or not? It's a very personal definition, it's true, but at least it has the merit of informing you, and above all of existing. And yes, "hypeurs" are mostly complicated people.

So a really trendy place is a place that, once it's known, is no longer considered trendy. Do you follow me? You have to move very quickly and follow the nomads who are regulars of the Parisian hype scene without delay. And you have to do this as soon as the place starts to generate the first comments. "That's the moment," as Jean Claude Vandamme, the greatest among us, would say! So hurry before it's too late...

Here is a non-exhaustive list of some of the must-see places of this kind:

THE BAR AT THE MURANO HOTEL
A true distillation of modernity, comfort, and authentic chic, the Murano is the trendy place in the capital. The very long white Chesterfield sofa and the impressive fireplace, which is always in use, provide the perfect backdrop for photo shoots and television interviews. Yes, it's true, the media are very fond of this place!
The bar's contrasting colors give it a very cozy atmosphere, and behind the long counter managed by Sandrine Houdré-Grégoire, nearly 300 types of vodka await tasting.

The cocktail menu is constantly changing, and there are always pleasant surprises at Murano, both in your glass and in the room. On the music side, Murano's regular (and very high-quality) live performances have led to the production of an excellent unplugged compilation, self-produced by the venue. On Thursdays, the "Lucky Star" evening attracts a trendy crowd who come to enjoy the mixes of a different DJ each week. You'll find the cream of Parisian society in this palace on the République. A sure bet!

BAR HEMINGWAY (RITZ HOTEL)
Be warned, you are in a sacred place, revered by the greatest hype-makers in history! From Ernest Hemingway to Marcel Proust, Greta Garbo and Charlie Chaplin, this place was also frequented by Coco Chanel, who lived at the Ritz for nearly 30 years. The space is tiny, but it's easy to imagine that it has been preserved from the masses and therefore from expansion.

The idea that it is jealously guarded by its loyal patrons, like a family secret within a clan, is no myth. You are dealing with a true legend. The dark atmosphere, thick carpet, and black leather give the place an intimate feel where the capital's dandies can undoubtedly brush up on their classics with the hotel's neglected and wealthy widows. On the menu are the world's best cocktails (and the most expensive too!) created by the famous Colin Field, such as the Dry Martini or the Kashenka, and his "vodka-infused" strawberries. It doesn't get any more chic than this!

BAR DE L'HÔTEL COSTES
Ultra-trendy, the Bar de l'Hôtel Costes relies on its clientele of actors, artists, and other media personalities to establish its reputation. It has been doing so for many years now.
A very comfortable bar in the early evening, it offers a wide range of cocktails to enjoy to the relaxing beat of electro-lounge music mixed by the venue's famous DJs: Stéphane Pompougnac, Mark Ricci, and David Debarce. In terms of decor, Costes's official designer, Jacques Garcia, has left his mark and created the overall look of this bar, also known as the Salon Chinois. A place where contemporary and classic styles are skillfully blended, this bar is proof that an establishment can remain trendy for many years.

BAXO
With its unique atmosphere, supernatural decor, and rich musical program, Baxo is naturally ranked among the capital's most fashionable bars.

A stone's throw from the Canal Saint Martin, this bar, which resembles an old betting shop but with a contemporary makeover, is very popular at the weekend. Regulars and other hype hunters will undoubtedly love the atmosphere and comfortable decor.
In addition to great music, this bar has a wonderful wine list... which suggests that the evening could get very lively. And, strangely enough, that's true!

LA PERLE
A bohemian spot par excellence, La Perle looks like any other bar at first glance. Once inside, you quickly realize that the kitsch is very appealing. Beautiful people crowd inside to remake the world, and even on weekends, the sidewalk is overflowing with "happy, fun-loving bobos." It's a very pleasant place to visit, and your evening can be very comfortable for your mind and your wallet. The ordinary can therefore become fashionable when a clientele, tired of the trendy, decides, despite itself, to make it... trendy! For some Parisians, appearances are the only thing that matters.
Don't be fooled by appearances, La Perle is a case in point.

COLETTE
Colette, the capital's trendy boutique, now has its own water bar. And let's just say, they've gone all out at "Coco"... Colette
Customers can choose from no less than 90 still and sparkling waters from around the world, as well as a wide selection of coffees and other mochas. All this in a stylish setting frequented by many celebrities.

As for the music, it's non-stop electro! If you want to have a drink during the day (closed in the evening and on Sundays) and show off your I LOVE PARIS T-shirt, this is the place to be!

PS: Here's a little tip to avoid feeling overwhelmed: "Don't swing your head from side to side before checking out the vendors first. Their attitude will tell you whether the songs being played are trendy... or not." It's an important detail!
