Where can you find the best ice cream in Paris? It may sound surprising, but finding the best ice cream in Paris isn't as easy as you might think, even if it is a popular dessert. Ice cream suffers from this very popularity and can be found in any restaurant or small shopping mall, and often comes from industrial producers.
What's the point of eating industrial ice cream when you can buy it at the supermarket for less? It's to combat this injustice that we've put together a guide to the best ice creams in Paris, ice creams that may take you out of your way, but that will make you dream and even travel.
We did our utmost to find the best ice cream in Paris , and had to make a choice by pre-selecting 12 addresses in 4 distinct categories.
Ice cream really is France's favorite dessert, especially in summer, yet the heat is no excuse for eating ice cream - the Nordic countries are in fact the biggest consumers of ice cream, with 13.3 liters per year per inhabitant in Finland, compared with just 6.8 liters in France!

A titanic battle between the best in each category: with these addresses in hand, the editorial team set off to test the ice creams on site. To help you understand the final rankings, we'll take a closer look at how the test was carried out.
The test
- To begin with, each test was carried out anonymously, so as not to receive any preferential treatment!
- The ice cream representative of the establishment was chosen according to the recommendations of the waiter and/or his popularity: we consider that the ice cream chosen must be the one that the house makes best. By default, if there is only one ice cream in the establishment, we choose it (logical).
- The ice cream must be available all year round, so no daily specials or limited editions.
Finally, we have chosen to rate the ice creams according to four quality criteria:
Texture
Whether particularly creamy, light or melting, these components will make up a score out of 5.
Taste
The strength of the taste, the balance of flavors and overall quality will be recorded in a score out of 5.
Appearance
Presentation, general appearance and packaging will be given 4 points.
Quantity/price ratio
This criterion will be based on the generosity of the ice cream, because we know you want your money's worth! The ratio between size/quality and price will give a score out of 6.
Now that you know everything, don't delay in discovering our ranking of the best Glaces de Paris!
Two well-known brands that can be found all over Paris: Haagen Dazs, the representative of a major ice cream brand, and Paradis du fruit, a concept bar/restaurant, both came out on top!
Caramel beurre Salé ice cream from Haagen Dazs
The Haagen Dazs salted butter caramel ice cream has a very intense, pronounced taste and is generous on the quantity too; note the creamy texture that is characteristic of Haagen Dazs.
But make no mistake, if you like Haagen Dazs, then you'll love tasting their ice creams in a Haagen Dazs store, so there's no real surprise here other than an ice cream that's already pretty good and already self-service in any self-respecting supermarket.
Price: €5.6 for two balls
Score : 12/20
The Kill Ice at Paradis du Fruit
Kill Ice is the only real ice cream served in the bar, but that's not going to stop us.
To put it simply, the only real interest lies in the scoops of ice cream that have really been given special treatment to release their sublime taste potential, the rest being merely superfluous, like the stick of Magnum topped with caramel, for example.
Price: €9.5
Score : 12/20

Vanilla ice cream from Pascal le Glacier
This small, insulated ice cream parlour offers a return to the classics, selling plastic tubs that will remind you of the ice cream tubs of your childhood.
As for the ice cream, the vanilla has a very pronounced, artisanal taste, and you can really taste the fresh egg used in the preparation. Anyone who's ever made crème brulée or vanilla ice cream at home should know what I'm talking about!
However, unlike its competitors, this ice cream is difficult to enjoy right away, which doesn't do it much good.
In short, Pascal's ice cream is of a very high standard, handcrafted with good products, but will not surprise even the most discerning gourmet.
Price: €4 per individual jar
Score : 12.5/20

Mango sorbet from Bac à Glace
This is a very pleasant, smooth ice cream that melts quickly in the mouth: in short, a good quality ice cream with a real, pronounced mango flavour.
Don't think you'll be incredibly surprised by its originality, but the ice cream is a real cloud in the mouth that glides right down your gullet.
Note that they don't offer a jar :(

Grom's ice cream is surprising in the sense that its texture is reminiscent of caramel, almost as sticky and stringy as real caramel, so you end up eating a caramel ice cream with the texture of caramel, but in a frozen version.
A good point, even if the taste doesn't necessarily follow: the pink himalayan salt doesn't add anything special, and in the end the taste is more milky than real caramel.

Yoghurt ice cream from My Berry
First of all, this ice cream is generous and has a very interesting texture: sorbet-like, it's very melting and creamy, with a nice yoghurt taste. In fact, it's a real frozen yoghurt, extremely melting.
If you love yoghurt, and want the texture and taste of a cold version, My Berry is for you!

Pierre Hermé's Satine
Satine is the result of the astonishing blending of two sensations in a single frozen dessert, which combines the power of a fruity sorbet with the softness of fromage blanc, reminiscent of the texture of cheese cake.
Sprinkled with small cakes, we really feel like we're back to an iced cheesecake mixed with sorbet in a perfect marriage of textures, resulting in a very refreshing sorbet with original flavors.

Gelati D'alberto's inimitable caramelized speculos with salted butter
It's a good ice cream with a pleasant, creamy texture, melting in the mouth just as it should, but leaving a slightly watery sensation in the mouth.
The tastes are strange and sometimes a little unexpected compared to what is expected, but the ice cream is not very pronounced; it nevertheless makes up for it with generosity and an unbeatable quantity/price ratio.

Rightly regarded as a luxury ice cream parlour, L'Amorino is the epitome of Italian ice cream in Paris.
The famous Inimitable, creamy to perfection, will literally melt you on the spot, with a real delicacy in its texture.
The taste is pronounced, releasing a distinctive hazelnut aroma that will remind some people of Nutella, only better. What's more, the taste is well-balanced, not overpowering at the end, and the little bits of chocolate-hazelnut awaken the powerful taste of hazelnut in the mouth for uninterrupted pleasure right down to the last bite.

Lemon basil and almond milk from Raimo
Here we have the crème de la crème of ice cream, if I may say so, for Raimo has the prize for originality in these varied and extraordinary tastes.
In the case of the lemon basil speciality, which marries perfectly with the almond milk, the truly intense flavours of the scents come together to form a perfect osmosis of flavours and a perfect balance of taste - the acidic lemon basil being softened by the sweetness of the almond milk.
Never has an ice-cream experience been so intense and astonishing: it's like buying the latest shampoo with the original scents of lemon basil and almond milk, but instead of pouring it all over your hair, you savor it, and the sensation is bloody delicious!
