The hamburger, that little piece of meat sandwiched between two buns, is now one of the most popular and widely consumed meals in the world. Sortiraparis has found the best hamburgers in Paris for you. Proof that hamburgers and fine dining can go hand in hand.

Easily categorized as junk food, the hamburger is a very popular dish that doesn't necessarily have a good reputation. And the big fast food chains don't help us think otherwise. Sortiraparis has decided to show you that this dish deserves its place in gastronomy and introduces you to the best hamburgers in Paris.

To restore the hamburger's reputation, Sortiraparis embarked on a test across the four corners of the capital to find THE best hamburger in Paris. We therefore offer you a selection of hand-picked, tested, and approved burgers.

In order to find the best hamburger in Paris, we carried out a pre-selection stage and chose 12 addresses according to four distinct categories.

's selection Top locations
Locations that have stood up to numerous tests. Here are the three locations we chose from among the other top locations.

- Le Comptoir de Brice
- Le Cannibale Café
- Le Coffee Parisien

Community locations
Because you too have an opinion on the matter, we took a look at community websites and selected the three most popular locations.

- The HD Dinner
- The CEO
- The Joe Allen Café

Word-of-mouth addresses
Whether through personal experience or thanks to the ideas of knowledgeable friends, Sortiraparis brings its own set of promising or proven addresses.

- The BIA (Breakfast in America)
- The Frog
- Ellis Island Café

Renowned addresses
A selection of addresses known for their international reputation, prestige, or original concept.

- Hard Rock Café
- Le Dali
- Super Nature

A battle of the titans, pitting the best in each category against each other. With these addresses in hand, Sortiraparis set out to test these burgers (a tough job). To help you understand the final ranking, we will detail how the test was conducted.

The Test

• First, each test was conducted anonymously on site to ensure no special treatment!

• The burger chosen to represent the establishment was selected based on the server's recommendations and/or its popularity: we believe that the burger chosen should be the one that the restaurant does best. By default, if there is only one burger on the menu, then that is the one we choose (logical).

• The burger must be available all year round, so no daily specials or limited editions.

• To ensure fairness in the test, the meat is always cooked to the same degree of doneness, i.e., medium. This means that the meat should be slightly tender and firm at the same time, which is unfortunately not always the case...

Finally, we chose to rate the burgers according to four quality criteria:

The Bun,
Its softness, crispiness, golden crust, light crumb, and flavor are rated on a scale of 1 to 5.

The Meat,
The essential element that gives the burger its flavor. The quality of the meat, how well it is cooked, its tenderness, and its taste are rated out of 5.

The toppings,
The freshness of the vegetables, the famous pickle, the overall flavor, and the originality of the toppings are the key elements that make up the toppings rating out of 4.

Value for money
This criterion will be based on the size of the burger, the overall taste, and the price. The score will therefore reflect the ratio between size, quality, and price out of 6.

Now that you know everything, don't wait any longer to discover the ranking of the best burgers in Paris!

An exclusive interview with the winner awaitsyou at the end of this Top 10 list of the best burgers in Paris!

Le Coffee Parisien with the Obamac Burger: 10th best hamburger in Paris

Obamac BurgerObamac BurgerObamac BurgerObamac Burger

We start this top 10 with a president! And not just any president, as it's the burger dedicated to Obama, created by Coffee Parisien, that makes it into our ranking. We can say that this tribute to the American figure is rather successful, but unfortunately the competition was tough, which means it won't rank very high in this list. Nevertheless, its few qualities may win you over.

The hamburger, which the server described as impressive, turned out to be a little smaller than expected. It had two perfectly cooked patties, topped with an interesting sauce—slightly sweet and spicy, a subtle blend of apple sauce and barbecue sauce. The cheese was reminiscent of melted, flavorful raclette, which enhanced the taste of the burger.

It also comes with a very fresh, crunchy pickle with a hint of vinegar. The bread is a disappointment, though. Even though it's slightly soft, it has no particular flavor and isn't crispy, which is a shame.

Ultimately, this burger lacks a little generosity. The toppings are satisfying, but the quality and taste of the patty and bun leave something to be desired. In conclusion, the value for money is less satisfying than other options.

Happy Days Dinner with its Favorite Burger: 9th best hamburger in Paris

Favorite BurgerFavorite BurgerFavorite BurgerFavorite Burger

Happy Days Dinner is a unique place in the heart of Châtelet! With a 100% 1950s American vibe, the place has plenty to offer (think of those superb milkshakes and cheesecakes!). But here, it's the burgers that interest us, so let's find out why the favorite burger is not quite the favorite in this top list! It's fair to say that they're generous at HD Dinner, maybe even a little too generous. In any case, expect a very large burger.

Despite its excess of ingredients, the Favorite doesn't fare too badly thanks to the steak being cooked to perfection and the quality of the meat, which is tender, giving it a slight advantage. Speaking of generosity, the toppings are plentiful: bacon, onion, cheese, and egg, all in abundance and condensed, which makes it difficult to distinguish the flavors in the mouth, which is a shame. The bun is soft but has no particular flavor and lacks crispness. That said, the small sweet and savory sauce, which is the restaurant's secret, is very pleasant and enhances the taste.

An average result, then, with a messy and overloaded dish, but one that makes up for it with its generosity and price, as it is one of the cheapest in this top ten. Not the best burger in this top ten, but it will certainly satisfy the most voracious among you at a reasonable price.

The Ellis Island Café with its Manhattan Burger: 8th best hamburger in Paris

Manhatan BurgerManhatan BurgerManhatan BurgerManhatan Burger

The Ellis Island Café is one of those places that's a little off the beaten track but always welcomes you with open arms. With a smiling and always friendly owner, it's easy to feel at home at Ellis Island.

The burger recommended by Ellis Island Café therefore ranks quite highly. To make a good burger, certain essential elements must be respected. This is the case with the Ellis Island burger, which stands out thanks to a few positive points: it is cooked to perfection, the meat has a very pleasant taste—surprising given the presence of Parmesan—and is very tender. L

The bread is very crispy on top, which is a nice touch but doesn't really set it apart. It's accompanied by a fabulous pickle that's nicely vinegary and crunchy, but the downside is the grilled bacon, which is almost crunchy and too salty. Needless to say, the burger is good and has just the right flavors.

Super Nature with its Cheese Burger with young shoots: 7th best hamburger in Paris

Cheese Burger aux jeunes poussesCheese Burger aux jeunes poussesCheese Burger aux jeunes poussesCheese Burger aux jeunes pousses

Super Nature isn't a vegetable superhero (although it might as well be), but it is an organic restaurant, the only one in our top 10. This is a great opportunity to compare organic cuisine with its counterparts. It's clear that the burger doesn't fare too badly in this ranking, which is a great discovery that we're happy to share with you.

At first glance, the burger surprises with its toppings, using microgreens instead of lettuce, which is very trendy. It certainly looks interesting, but in terms of taste, it's a little less appealing. Nevertheless, the microgreens do add a nice crunch to the burger. In any case, it's worth noting the freshness of all the vegetables on the plate and in the burger. In terms of vegetables, we can say that we haven't found anything better among the competitors.

It's also worth mentioning that the burger has a perfectly cooked, tender patty and the bun is soft, but nothing particularly special. The burger's main weakness is that it's very dry overall. You quickly get thirsty while eating it, which may be due to the cheese and sprouts absorbing a lot of the moisture.

So, a good result, unfortunately marred by cheese that detracts from much of the pleasure of eating the burger (unless it's a clever way to make us drink more water?!). An interesting compromise in any case.

Bacon Cheese by the CEO: 6th best hamburger in Paris

Bacon CheeseBacon CheeseBacon CheeseBacon Cheese

But since when does the CEO make hamburgers? Joking aside, it wasn't easy to find the restaurant on search engines because of this play on words! In any case, here, the CEO is serious, and so it is with my finest tie that I will present the Bacon Cheese to you.

The distinctive feature of the PDG burger is definitely the bun, which is slightly crispy, soft and light, very pleasant on the palate, even reminiscent of brioche. It is accompanied by a well-cooked steak with no particular characteristics, a little tougher than usual and without any particular flavor.

Nevertheless, the whole thing is enhanced by tasty, smoky grilled bacon, a fresh, crunchy pickle, and a strong-flavored cheese that goes very well with the rest. With satisfactory overall quality, the dish is generous and well worth the price. It's a shame that the quality of the meat isn't up to par.

Le Dali with Le Chef: 5th best hamburger in Paris

Le ChefLe ChefLe ChefLe Chef

How about we take a look at the 5-star restaurants? Le Dali is a luxury restaurant located in the prestigious Meurice Hotel, a place of haute cuisine, so it's quite surprising to find a dish as popular and commonplace as a hamburger there! Let's see how they've combined this dish.

The Dali Burger is all about finesse: a tasty little pickle, a slightly crispy, thin and airy bun that melts in your mouth like a little piece of cloud, melted cheese and a flavorful sauce with just the right seasoning, all coming together in perfect balance. The steak is cooked to perfection, and the quality of the meat is also remarkable because it's very tender on the inside.

Then crunchy vegetables, sun-dried tomatoes, very light and not too salty bacon, and a thin mayonnaise round out the array of flavors. Seen this way, you might think that this hamburger could be propelled to the top of this ranking. But there is one major argument to cool your enthusiasm: its price! It's the most expensive in the entire ranking, but you can't really blame them, as the prestige of the location and the quality are truly outstanding.

That said, if we can find something just as good for a little less money, we're not opposed to that either... But don't let that stop you from trying this burger, which is well worth the detour. Its quality is remarkable, and we recommend you try it at least once.

The Frog with its Bacon Cheeseburger: 4th best hamburger in Paris

Bacon CheeseburgerBacon CheeseburgerBacon CheeseburgerBacon Cheeseburger

A bit of an outsider in this ranking, the Frog is a recommendation from an editor at Sortiraparis.com. It's a bit surprising that this burger ranks so high, just missing the top 3. Discover its unique features.

The meat has a delicious grilled flavor, is remarkably tender and cooked to perfection, giving it a delicious taste. The bread is generous and, above all, very crispy, with a distinctive flavor. The Frog's bread is one of the tastiest in this top list. A large, generously sized pickle finely pickled in vinegar, accompanied by a fresh salad.

The Frog Bacon Cheeseburger draws its strength from a good balance of quality ingredients combined with an affordable price.

Le BIA with the Super Sunny Burger: 3rd best hamburger in Paris

Super Sunny BurgerSuper Sunny BurgerSuper Sunny BurgerSuper Sunny Burger

Featured in many top lists, and sometimes even as the winner, B.I.A. ( Breakfast in America) is a sure bet for American-style dining. It quickly became one of our go-to places because of its quality and excellent value for money.

And yet, in all honesty and objectivity, this burger is in the top 3 of this ranking of the best burgers! Burgers at B.I.A. have always been big, and the Super Sunny Burger is no exception. The toasted bun is slightly sweet, soft, and crispy, perfect for holding the medium-rare steak with a fabulous, pronounced, and very tasty grilled flavor, accompanied by smoked, well-balanced bacon and a generous, slightly vinegary pickle.

The Super Sunny Burger is a bit like the Frog burger, except that the BIA burger is much more generous and has an unbeatable price. It's the least expensive of the top five. The best value for money is definitely at BIA.

The Hard Rock Café with its Legendary Burger: 2nd best hamburger in Paris

Legandary BurgerLegandary BurgerLegandary BurgerLegandary Burger

Legen... wait for it... dary burger! It was a really tough choice between this burger and the one that tops the top 10, with the difference being a hair's breadth. In the end, it was the price that tipped the Hard Rock Café burger into second place. But beware, it may not be number one, but one thing is for sure, it has earned its name as the Legendary Burger!

The Legendary burger is probably the biggest burger in the ranking, with a 280g piece of meat that is very tender on the inside and perfectly grilled on the outside. The steak has a pronounced grilled flavor and benefits from incomparable seasoning, and a light salt crust gives the steak a subtle taste. The bun is soft and crispy at the same time, and the whole thing is topped with slightly salty smoked bacon, a thin and tasty but not crunchy pickle, and a pleasant fried onion that brings out the flavor of the burger. The cheese, on the other hand, doesn't serve much purpose. Definitely a burger that will go down in legend.

Unfortunately, its price, while not excessive, is what will prevent the Hard Rock Café burger from reaching the top. But don't let that stop you from trying it, otherwise you'll be missing out on something amazing... wait for the rest... cinematic!

Le Comptoir de Brice with Le Burger du comptoir: The best hamburger in Paris

Le Burger Du ComptoirLe Burger Du ComptoirLe Burger Du ComptoirLe Burger Du Comptoir

A semi-finalist on Top Chef 2010, Brice Morvent opened his counter in the heart of the St-Martin market (you can't get any fresher than that!) to offer his cuisine to the general public. It was a great opportunity for Sortiraparis to see what the Top Chef alumni have to offer! In the end, it's clear that this former contestant is worth a visit! He's shot to the top of this list of the 10 best burgers in Paris!

It was a truly unique experience to discover the burger at the counter, despite our reservations due to the excessive media coverage of the contestant—thinking that the burger's reputation was overrated. So we were all the more impressed when we finally tasted this burger. In fact, it's not one but two small burgers that are presented on the plate for twice the pleasure!

The bun is soft with a slightly brioche-like texture, golden on top, crispy, and sprinkled with pumpkin seeds (giving it a unique taste). What stands out most is a veritable explosion of indescribable flavors that rush to the palate. All this is accompanied by a surprising garnish that reminds us of exotic flavors. The beef is very well cooked and very tender on the palate. It is enhanced by a gratin of Comté cheese and an exceptional little sauce, the recipe for which Brice Morvent jealously guards.

It may seem surprising, but the burger at Le Comptoir is not the most impressive burger. However, with his two small burgers, Brice Morvent has managed , in a stroke of genius, to far surpass the generosity of others with his undeniable taste quality.

As I said earlier in this top list, the burger at Le Comptoir is akin to true French haute cuisine but at a really affordable price, and that's really rare in Paris! The burger at Le Comptoir really deserves its rating and is a real treasure trove of flavor. We guarantee you'll really enjoy it!

Interview with Brice Morvent: winner of the Best Hamburger in Paris award

Interview with Brice Morvent, winner of Sortiraparis' Best Hamburger in Paris award for the "Burger du comptoir" served at Au Comptoir de Brice:

SAP: Congratulations Brice, you've won the title of best hamburger in Paris. How does it feel to be the true representative of French gastronomy in the burger world?

Brice Morvent: I'm delighted! Really, it's a great title for me, and I'll try to live up to it, because Paris is big, and taking up the torch for burgers like this is a great honor.

SAP: The competition was fierce, but you managed to beat your 11 competitors, including eight American restaurants that are supposed to specialize in this. What do you think set you apart from your opponents?

Brice Morvent: What sets us apart is that we don't make big burgers that aren't necessarily aesthetically pleasing. It's true that they look appetizing, and a big burger like that is tempting. But we're a little more refined. It's true that we've chosen to make two small burgers—with good ingredients—which is extremely important: with ground beef that's ground on the day the burger is eaten. We use good cheese, a good Comté that's neither too old nor too young, and a sauce that takes a long time to make, with lots of herbs that are chopped and stemmed by hand. We've worked really hard on this sauce, which is the secret to our burger. A burger is a lot of work, especially when you don't use industrial products.

SAP: You mention work. Can you give us an idea of what goes into making the burger?

Brice Morvent: You have to make the bread yourself, which takes a good two hours, then it has to rise for an hour and a half and be cooked properly, so the bread is prepared at least four hours before consumption—bearing in mind that we make it every day, we don't freeze it. The meat is ground the same day in our kitchens, the cheese is cut by hand, and the sauce takes a lot of work. Customers shouldn't be put off by the time it takes to assemble the burger. It takes about two minutes to prepare, as we have to season the salad, cook the fries, which are fresh and cut by hand, and toast the buns. The steak cooks while the buns are toasting, then we melt the cheese on the steak and assemble the burger, putting the sauce on the bottom bun, the steak with melted cheese, the caramelized onions on top, and ketchup on the top bun. Then we finish by arranging our two small burgers on the plate with the fries and salad, making sure it looks good, and it's true that it takes time.

SAP: Your burger is already a huge success, and you've even decided to extend its availability to the rest of the week, whereas until now it was only available on weekends.

Brice Morvent: We're going to put the burger back on the menu all week. I think we're going to get a lot of requests following this title, so we'll have to make sure we can produce and supply the same burger.

SAP: Do you plan to stop there? Do you plan to offer variations or seasonal burgers?

Brice Morvent: We're definitely going to expand the burger menu. I've thought about it, obviously avoiding copying what's already been done, and part of the menu will remain street food because healthy street food is becoming increasingly popular. So we're going to expand and continue along those lines.

SAP: Any final words for our readers at Sortiraparis.com?

Brice Morvent: Once again, I'm delighted, because apparently I wasn't there during the test, but my team was, and despite that, the burger turned out just as I wanted it to, so they're a great team. Without them, I can't do anything!
