Here's a great privatizable retreat to get away from it all. The French start-up The Oasis House is presenting its first standalone house for rent, La Prairie, in Seine-et-Marne, marking the launch of its collection of country houses. Located in Egreville, just under 100 kilometers from the capital, this renovated residence opens its doors, offering a space for relaxation and creativity in an accessible rural setting.
The founders, Camille Personnat and Guillaume Prigent, invite you to stays far from the Parisian rush. La Prairie distinguishes itself with an authentic design that showcases natural materials like terracotta floor tiles and vintage wooden furniture, all in harmony with eco-responsible initiatives. On-site culinary explorations are conceived by the waste-conscious chef, Chloé Charles, who favors short supply chains and seasonal produce, in line with The Oasis House's environmental approach, currently pursuing B Corp certification.
Beyond the welcoming facilities like the pool, the padel court and pétanque, or a renovated barn for events, the property offers a range of workshops—from yoga to painting to cooking classes. In addition, professional sessions are feasible, strengthening team cohesion and skill development in an environment that promotes wellbeing and communication. La Prairie also embraces innovation with two LumiPod, French tiny houses that provide an immersive nature experience, marrying luxury and sustainability.
Our take on stays at la Prairie by The Oasis House :
A home we had the chance to discover over a weekend—and the guiding principle here is to feel at home. Everything is geared toward comfort and independence, which is what guests will appreciate most: closets and a fridge at your disposal day and night, plus activities that are easy to access—boules, board games, and table football, for example.
A bit chilly? Light a fireplace and settle into an armchair or the sofa with a good book. Fancy a hot coffee to warm up as well? The coffee machine is ready for use. On the sleeping side, the rooms adopt a more standard “hotel” setup—basically meeting the basic requirements of a hotel room with a private bathroom (soaps, hairdryer, etc.)—and they’re incredibly comfortable. Do note that each room has its own distinct décor, courtesy of upcycled furnishings. Each room also has an en-suite bathroom (with one exception depending on the layout for the number of guests). The bed is absolutely perfect for a great night’s sleep.
For guests opting for the “Premium” package, meals are included. And as an add-on, a master class with Chef Chloe Charles is offered—a fun, highly instructive session that reveals more about certain culinary techniques. In short, we had a fantastic weekend!
The hybrid concept of The Oasis House, blending work and leisure, plays out in agile, well-equipped workspaces that strike a balance between professional focus and natural relaxation. With cutting-edge technology, authentic comfort, and close proximity to nature, La Prairie offers an innovative answer to the evolving expectations of companies and individuals seeking renewal and professional synergy. So, shall we book?
