About thirty minutes south of the capital, Demeures de Campagne invites you to an enchanted interlude in a pastoral setting, at the heart of the Parc du Coudray estate in Essonne. Nestled within a 20‑hectare wooded domain, the property offers a true breath of fresh air away from the urban buzz. In this green haven, a historic château houses an elegant spa where relaxation and well‑being take center stage. The promise of a nature escape, where time seems to stand still, is ideally placed near Paris, making the Domaine du Parc de Coudray a premier destination for those seeking tranquility and renewal.
The adventure unfolds along a stroll that circles the property, inviting guests to discover the domain’s rich biodiversity. From hive visits to potager explorations and treetop courses tucked among towering sequoias and century-old blue cedars, the Parc du Coudray brims with outdoor activities for nature lovers. The lush lawns that line the rooms and the restaurant invite relaxation, while the heated pool and its pool house add a serene note to the scene. And for sports enthusiasts, the estate offers a wide range of activities such as tennis, badminton, basketball, football, pétanque, ping-pong, and even a golf practice. You can even feed the estate’s chickens!
The centerpiece of this refreshing escape remains, no doubt, the Deep Nature spa at the Parc du Coudray. Housed in an 18th-century residence, once owned by the Panhard automotive-building family, this spa invites deep relaxation. The bespoke treatments on offer, such as the massage "L'Immersion" and the facial "L'Ultime," are designed to deliver a truly immersive sensory journey.
The wellness offering is rounded out with yoga and Pilates classes, as well as workshops on crafting natural cosmetics, helping guests discover their own oasis of calm. Note that you also have access to a gym, alongside the spa facilities—the sauna, steam room, indoor pool, and relaxation room.
Our Take on the Stay and the Deep Nature Spa at Demeure de Campagne:
A stay and spa that the editors had the chance to test. On the accommodation side, everything is designed to make you feel right at home, wrapped in a cocoon of well-being: attentive staff, a bright, open lobby, ultra-comfortable lounge chairs... a perfect way to kick off your getaway. As for the rooms, they’re charmingly cosy, with a bed that’s enormous (for one person, to be precise, but quite roomy for two), and a bathroom with pared-down furnishings that still feels warm. The mattress is nothing short of a blessing...
Regarding the public spaces, note the large, functional kitchen area reserved for breakfast, but also for cooking masterclasses, in a highly practical setting. It’s simple, pretty, and relaxing. On the cuisine, everything is fresh and locally sourced (with one or two exceptions), as the house aims to spotlight local produce. This is also evidenced by the vegetable garden, where most of the vegetables are used by the restaurant, and the eggs provided daily by the resident hens. The property also collaborates with several nearby producers, within about 5km of the hotel.
And of course, the cooking is absolutely delicious, served in several formats: “snacking” (an Italian-style aperitivo) on Friday evenings, Sunday brunch, and a casual weekday vibe (courses brought to the table, self-service). Everything is designed to turn mealtime into a unique moment.
Regarding the activities offered, our program included a culinary masterclass, in a small group. A shared moment with the house chef and a chance to learn plenty of cooking tips and techniques. For us, the workshop involved making vegetarian ravioli with broccoli cream. Note that the dishes prepared are then served at dinner, so you can savor the experience to the end. We also did a Nordic walking session around the estate with our coach Kevin, who covered the basics of Nordic walking while weaving in quick physical exercises. A fun, energizing morning activity—highly recommended.
But the standout highlight of the experience is the spa, which we also had the chance to test. For treatments, we had the “Inspiration” massage: a personalized session tailored to the client’s needs. In short, before the massage begins, the therapist has you fill out a form, followed by a brief discussion to better target your expectations and needs. The therapists adapt to your body’s tensions, focusing on areas like the upper back and legs. A perfectly customized, genuinely relaxing massage—these practitioners don’t just follow a rigid protocol. We left feeling deeply relaxed...
We also joined a facial yoga class with a practitioner who demonstrated, via a Gua Sha tool (used to massage facial zones), how to perform a morning facial workout and boost the skin’s glow. A fantastic session full of tips for daily skincare. We also got to explore the spa facilities—an indoor pool, a steam room, and a sauna. Beautiful facilities that complete the experience!
As you can tell, we really enjoyed our stay. It was a well-deserved pause not too far from the hustle and bustle of Paris.
The Parc du Coudray thus unveils a complete lineup for a getaway focused on rest and reconnecting with nature. Shall we book our weekend at the Demeures de Campagne, friends?
