Blanca, a bucolic hotel with Mediterranean-inspired design in Batignolles

A new hotel is opening in Paris's 17th arrondissement. Located near Batignolles, Blanca replaces the former Hôtel Gaston, offering 43 rooms, Mediterranean-inspired décor, and a sauna.

A new hotel address opens its doors in the western Paris area. The Blanca Hotel settles at 51 Boulevard Pereire, in the 17th arrondissement, on the site of the former Hôtel Gaston. Anouk and Louis Solanet thus continue developing Colomba, the lifestyle collection of the Orso Hotels group.

With its 43 rooms, the hotel opens directly onto the Pereire Promenade, laid out along the former Auteuil railway line. The upper floors thus offer views of the trees lining this promenade and the neighborhood's buildings, just a few minutes' walk from Rue de Lévis and its shops.

To transform the old hotel, Anouk and Louis Solanet enlisted Mariette Sans-Rival, an artist and interior designer with a background in film and theatre. A former head costume designer, she notably worked on Justine Triet's The Battle of Solferino.

At Blanca, she oversaw the layout and also crafted several pieces tailored for the space: brass lighting, bedside tables, desks, the breakfast buffet, and original paintings. The décoration moves away from the black and gray of the old establishment in favor of cream, yellow, sage green and brass. On the ground floor, banquettes en velours, lighting in verre de Murano and black-and-white terrazzo round out the look.

On the service front, the hotel showcases a breakfast that includes artisanal pastries, bread baked on site and specialty coffees. A sauna clad in red terracotta rounds out the offerings, inviting guests to unwind and pamper themselves.
