The Musée d’Orsay opens its Orsay Live season with an evening devoted to Mary Cassatt, on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Readings, songs, and workshops extend the visit to the exhibition Mary Cassatt, The Independent.
At 7 p.m., in the auditorium, Léa Lopez et Natacha Krief lend voice to the painter and her circle’s correspondence. This theatrical reading, scheduled to run until 8 p.m., revisits her journey and her pursuit of artistic independence.
From 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., the choir Nos Lèvres révoltées invites you on a sung tour through the exhibition and then into the nave. Its repertoire tackles the emancipation of women.
The evening also features two continuous workshops: photography, drawing and embroidery on Level +2 from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, followed by a drawing session at the far end of the nave from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
Activities come at no extra charge with a museum admission ticket. The Thursday evening nocturne (after 6 p.m.) costs 12 euros online or 10 euros on-site, excluding those eligible for free admission.
