The iconic Molitor pool welcomes guests once again at a redesigned complex that has preserved its old-world charm: a highly regarded 5-star hotel in Paris, where you’ll find the famous pools that put the venue on the map.
Its pool is listed as a Historic Monument thanks to the SOS Molitor association: built in the era by architect Lucien Pollet, its standout feature was the blend of a 33-metre indoor pool, flanked by two galleries of traditional cabins, and an outdoor 50-metre pool encircled by three tiers of blue cabins and white balustrades.
Opened in 1929 by Olympic medalists Aileen Riggin Soule and Johnny Weissmuller, the Molitor pool enjoys a prime location just steps from the Bois de Boulogne, Parc des Princes, Roland Garros, and the Jean Bouin Stadium, right in the heart of the 16th arrondissement. You’ll be tempted by the indoor and outdoor pools.
However, these perks are reserved for hotel guests and for members of a select club that many Parisians simply can’t afford, as has often been the case in the past. Indeed, you’re looking at a €3,300 annual membership and a €1,200 club registration to be able to splash around in the magnificent pools. And since the offer is limited to the first 1,000 subscribers, you can bet it’ll be a quiet affair.
The hotel is part of MGALLERY, Accor’s collection of memorable hotels, and offers elegantly styled rooms with views over the basin: 104 rooms and 20 suites await couples or business travelers, who will appreciate the meeting rooms located in the basement!
Hotel guests and Parisians can still take comfort in the SPA by Clarins, which promises full cocooning sessions thanks to relaxation rooms, couples’ massage suites and a hair salon to enjoy the best facial and body treatments for women and men, but also beauty tips from Clarins’ estheticians!
And savor the gourmet restaurant whose menu showcases an intergenerational take on French cuisine: from €18 to €55, the dishes inspire appetite, not to mention the tasting menus occasionally offered by MOFs!
Restaurant found on the rooftop open to all, which transports us to the heart of an aromatic garden: it’s such a pleasure to stroll the rooftop terrace that you’d forget the ring road…
The architects Alain Derbesse, Alain-Charles Perrot and Jacques Rougerie, who lead the project, aimed to revive the spirit of the 1930s while weaving in a few contemporary touches — such as street-art murals!
Molitor rises from the ashes with three rallying cries: POOL, ART, LIFE (the pools, the art, the life). Here you can savor the joys of living in one of Paris’s most beautiful jewels, in a setting that could hardly remind you more of Deauville and its beach huts: all that’s missing is the sand, and we’re there!
