Juste le Zinc, a friendly restaurant in the 8th arrondissement

If you're passing through the 8th arrondissement and looking for a nice place to have lunch or dinner, why not drop in to Juste le Zinc? You'll enjoy traditional French dishes in a friendly atmosphere!

Tucked away in a little street, far from the hustle and bustle of Boulevard de Clichy, a pretty little terrace beckons. It's that of Juste le Zinc, a friendly French restaurant opened in 2015.

Once we've settled in, we take a look at the slate, from which we choose starters, main courses and desserts for the evening. At lunchtime, Juste le Zinc offers menus: €15 main course, €21 starter+main course or main course+dessert and €27 starter+main course+dessert.

But for this evening, it's all about the slate, which changes daily and is packed with traditional French dishes... but not only!

Starters include foie gras de canard des Landes (14€), roasted prawn salad with Xeres (12€), cassolette de couteaux en persillade (10€), breaded whelks with aïoli (10€), fabulous poached eggs with an incredible Sauterne onion cream (9€) and avocado with fresh, melting crabmeat (12€).

As for the dishes, there's no shortage of fish and meat options: lobster gratin with penne (28€), pan-fried scallops with saffron risotto (26€), whole roasted sea bream (26€)? Or how about rump steak heart tataki (22€), guinea fowl leg with cider (22€), Irish Angus prime rib (70€ for two)?

For us, the final choice is roast Landes duck breast (22€), perfectly rosé and accompanied by a gourmet potato gratin; and then a cataplana de la mer (24€). If you don't know what that is, imagine a bubbling dish filled with mussels, razor clams, fish, tomatoes, chorizo and lemon, and you'll get this typical Portuguese dish.

For dessert, if you still have room, don't miss theIle flottante à la praline rose Pompadour (9€), a marvel of sweetness and indulgence, or the crumble of perfectly caramelized apples with Calvados (9€) and its buttery cookie.
