If you've always dreamed of tasting Dominique Crenn's cuisine, but have never had the opportunity to fly to San Francisco, then the following may well please you. The three-starred French chef will open her first restaurant in France. And it is in Paris that the chef, who has been living in the United States for many years, plans to open her new baby, named Golden Poppy. But you'll have to wait a little longer, since this first Parisian table signed Dominique Crenn is announced for June 2023.
For those who are impatient, Golden Poppy will be located in the 9th arrondissement of the capital, and more precisely in La Fantaisie. Designed by the Swedish Martin Brudnizki, the Hotel La Fantaisie is the new Parisian establishment of the Leimotiv group. With its 73 rooms and suites and the Holidaymie spa, La Fantaisie offers " a concept centered around plants ".
In terms of gastronomy, the chef Dominique Crenn will be in charge of the hotel's three restaurant spots, namely the much-anticipated Golden Poppy restaurant, but also the Poppy Café and the Rooftop.
We will discover the delights of Californian pescetarian cuisine highlighting local French products. Here we have the diversity of the culinary history of the West Coast, with dishes such as :
Expect plates full of originality and boldness, in true Californian spirit. For example, sea urchin (a Californian specialty) sublimated by umami notes of banana and caramel. The restaurant's setting, designed by Martin Brudnizki, blends perfectly with the art of dining thanks to its bright and warm colors.
As a reminder, the chef heads three establishments - L'Atelier Crenn, Petit Crenn and Bar Crenn - all based in San Francisco. It was in 2019 that Dominique Crenn earned three Michelin stars for her restaurant L'Atelier Crenn; becoming the first woman to be awarded three stars in the United States.
