Les Fabricants: the restaurant with comforting, generous and affordable dishes

Who said that you had to spend a lot of money to have a good restaurant in Paris? Today, we present you a good address which proves you the opposite. Let's go to the 11th district of the capital, at 61 rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud to discover Les Fabricants, a casual address that has become a real institution in the neighborhood.

The setting is typical of a Parisian bistro: long benches, wooden tables, a large counter and slates on the wall. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. This address, as well known by Parisians as by foreigners, brings us together in the love of the specialities of the South-West. The team is visibly animated by the passion of the restaurant business, and reserves you a warm welcome with a lot of humor and this good mood is contagious.

On the drinks side, the wine list offers very affordable prices, not exceeding 20 euros for a bottle, and we tell you straight out, but not without a sense of humor, that "for the classier wines, it's on the slate".

One of the stars of the menu is theveal escalope Montagnarde, a dish in sauce composed of several layers: first a bed of fine potatoes, on which the meat rests accompanied by a good dose of cantal on a layer of country ham, all covered with a mushroom sauce. A monstrously greedy must, especially for the cold days!

And since we're in the South-West, duck lovers will find something to their liking! Whether it's a slab, a gizzard, a duck breast or a confit, you can choose how you prefer to eat this very tasty French poultry. For us, it will be a confit leg with melting flesh, accompanied by porcini mushrooms, a salad and the signature potatoes of the address.

For dessert, we stay in the comfort zone with a proposal that is both greedy and regressive: floating island, chocolate mousse, Basque cake or caramel cream compete for the spotlight. The clafoutis of the day, in this case with mango and raspberries, is a tempting choice, and we don't skimp on the amount of fruit! With its texture at once soft, melting and at the same time sufficiently firm shows us a level of mastery of the recipe that could overshadow the cooking of our grandparents.
