Parisian gourmands feel like they are in Paradise these days. Just imagine: after the opening of Christophe Adam's Atelier de l'éclair (the éclair workshop), and Eclair de Génie (it's a pun: literally "a genius' éclair" and "a flash of genius"), we now have THE place for cream puffs: Maison du Chou (the House of Puff)!
Parisian taste buds are therefore pretty busy these days, with this new pastry shop. Open since April 2, it's there waiting for you to try out the puffs.
Right in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés, this new "cream puffs Foodista" it-address might well becomre your new home.
Designed by Manuel Martinez, Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France) and two star Chef at the "Le Relais Louis XIII" restaurant, this place gives you a chance to rediscover the cream puff, with a whole new experience: the cream puffs are cooked to order, on site, and are truly fresh.
And for a good reason: these little puffs are made with egg yolks and soft white cheese, using a traditionnal yet delicious base. As for the filling, you can have coffee, chocolate or more seasonal products. For the opening, the place offers rose and lychee cream puffs. If you're a purist, you can go for the regular plain puff.
The puff is sold € 2 a piece, € 5 for three, and € 10 for a box of 6.
In short, if you're a true gourmet, don't miss Maison du Chou (the House of Puff), Place de Fürstenberg in the 6th arrondissement.
