La Maison du Mochi opens its first store in Paris

La Maison du Mochi opens its very first store in the heart of Paris 6th arrondissement. Good news for lovers of this small Japanese balls to enjoy for teatime.

Available so far only online, La Maison du Mochi takes the plunge and finally opens its first store. The specialist of craft mochis settles in rue du Cherche Midi in the heart of the 6th arrondissement.

Parisians are spoiled, you won’t have to wait for the delivery any more, you can now enjoy on the spot these small Japanese balls wrapped in sticky rice and an Anko heart, a sweetened adzuki bean paste. This small treat is to be enjoyed with a cup of tea or herbal tea for the perfect afternoon break.

Well, you just have to wait a little bit longer for the store to open since it’s said to open in April. La Maison du Mochi has been created in 2016 by Mathilda Motte following her trip to Japan where she’s been introduced to the creation of mochi according to the ancestral rules. Available according to the seasons, this small pastry rocks since it’s gluten-free, 100% plant-based and without any fat.

To wait for the opening, you can still visit their website and enjoy a matcha tea mochi, a hazelnut mochi, a black sesame one, an almond mochi or even a mochi flavored with yuzu.
Made in Touraine, mochis are delivered fresh ad soft, but we can’t wait to discover La Maison du Mochi in the flesh.
