The authentic Japanese cheesecake can be enjoyed at Takumi! Set in downtown Paris, this bakery also serves the flavorsome cream puff, cheese tart and sando.

Forget about the traditional U.S. cheesecake, and have some Japanese cheesecake. Lighter, lower in sugar, Japanese cheesecake looks like the famous chiffon cake. Invented on Hokkaido Island, the recipe is a secret, but a place in Paris has decided to take you on a journey to the Country of the Rising Sun, so you can try this major dessert. Called Takumi, this bakery is the first in Paris shining a light on the authentic Japanese cheesecake. As an outcome, lots of foodies come to the bakery since it opened in late May 2022.

Inside? The pâtissiers work to make the famous cheesecake and sweet specialties based on irresistible flavors: matcha, black sesame, chocolate, vanilla and even raspberry. It also features the cheese tart and the excellent cream puff, a Japanese dessert inspired by the French cream puff. And the black sesame one is heart-stopping!

As for cheesecakes, several flavors are provided at Takumi: yuzu, chocolate, matcha (we highly recommend), or classic vanilla… But every time, it makes our taste buds dance with joy! The cheesecake is very appealing, the recipe is light, without a cookie base, coming round and a slightly golden top. If you like a stronger cheese taste, have it cold, straight from the fridge, but if you are a fan of fluffy cakes, have it lukewarm.

And for savory fans, Takumi also provides sandos – the famous Japanese sandwiches. Tamago, chicken, or wagyu beef, it is hard to choose!

Last but not least, this summer, Takumi invites us to cool off with their Mochi Ice concept, namely iced classic mochis (chocolate, matcha, black sesame), or fruity mochis (strawberry, passion fruit and coconut).

So, are you ready to fly to Hokkaido Island?
