Caffè ArtCurial, Champs-Elysées hidden restaurant

When you say ArtCurial, most Parisians are likely to answer that it’s the auction hall sets in the Champs-Elysées, they’re not wrong, they just don’t know everything. Well, when we hear ArtCurial, we think about the delicious Gnocci by Enrico Einaudi’s mamma, the roasted squid tentacolo and the risotto al Nero, a risotto base on black cuttlefish ink marvelously cooked by young chefs Filippo Rossato and Ilario Paravano and served under a beautiful glass roof.

Caffè Artcurial, here’s a restaurant you want to remember in Paris. Set on one of Paris most beautiful arteries (yes, I’m proud to say so), Caffè Artcurial is the chic restaurant of the eponymous auction house. You can’t see it at first, you have to dare and go inside the cave of the auction beast to enjoy a seat under a sunny glass roof.

Caffè Artcurial, LE restaurant caché des Champs-Elysées

This place, of a rare elegance, gives pride of place to this hôtel particulier from 1840 with a wide glass roof designed by Charles Zana, offering a view on a private garden. Inside, no Michelin menu but a sophisticated Italian tratorria, like Enrico Einaudi – the happy owner of Caffè Artcurial and Sense Eat in Paris – loves. This Italian passionate hedonist coming from Piedmont and a gourmet at heart, put his heart and soul into it!

The outcome: Enrico Einaudi couldn’t help but put his mother’s gnocci on the menu of the restaurant, next to the roasted squid, fusilloni and veal stew, “homemade” tajarin with black truffle (the traditional spaghetti recipe from Piedmont, “homemade” with black truffle), risotto osso buco “Vialone nano Melotto” with cuneo saffron and vitello tonnato!

To accompany these dishes, Enrico Einaudi unearthed many tasty wines, such as the Spinetta from the Rivetti brothers or a Barbaresco Bordini, a typical red entirely created in Nebbiolo, a delight even with desserts, including the delicious moist and oh-so light tiramisu.
