Ideally located on the Place de la Madeleine, the Grand Café Fauchon is the ideal place to relax for a meal, a tea-time, a Glam'Hours aperitif or even a brunch.
Indeed, after a shopping session at Printemps or a stroll in the Tuileries Gardens, we go to relax and treat our taste buds to the dishes of Chef Frederic Claudel and the pastries of François Daubinet.
On the plate, French products are the most important. The products of our regions and of the season are honored. The Grand Café Fauchon offers a cuisine that is both good and tasty, a true high-end bistro cuisine that will put stars in your eyes.
As for the decor, we obviously find the color codes of Fauchon. Pink and black are the order of the day. A large, dapper central bar, velvet seats and beautiful lighting fixtures form a glamorous ensemble.
The café also unveils a Summer Garden which is used for the hotel's breakfast but where you can now also have lunch in front of a beautiful historical fountain.
French salmon, smoked salmon, riso like risotto, razor clams and octopus carpaccio and cloud of shellfish, frog legs, venereal rice, horseradish foam, as well as the best hams from here and elsewhere: Breton, Sardinian, Corsican..., are among the proposals that open up to us in this place.
When we passed through, we discovered theorganic soft-boiled egg on a pan of cep mushrooms with herbs and toasted bread, accompanied by a Riso of knives and octopus carpassio with its shellfish foam. An egg with a runny heart, well-seasoned porcini mushrooms and a risotto cooked just right with the taste of the sea, a delight.
We continued with the scallops roasted in Champagne, accompanied by pumpkin, chestnut. Nuts well seized with in premium the crunch of the buckwheat which comes to heighten the dish, we adore.
We finish of course with one of the house's pastries. Paris-Brest, chocolate éclair, mille-feuille marron-cassis, Carrémenchoc, seasonal tart or Bisou-bisou, the choice is hard.
Let's go for the Mille-feuille (light and crispy) and the iconic Bisou-bisou with its amazing flavors, yum! We finish by a small macaroon and a glass of champagne, we are in the angels!
And if you are going to settle down for a meal or a tea-time?
