Gourmets and gourmands can run without any hesitation to Caïus, a restaurant set in Paris 17th arrondissement by the Place de l’Etoile. A place owned by chef Jean-Marc Notelet delighting local gastronomes’ taste buds for about fifteen years now.
A bistro and gourmet cuisine as well as ingredients perfectly matching for a complete alchemy in the plate. The menu more or less change at every service, according to the market and the chef’s mood. You’ll never eat the same at Caïus even though some dishes are regularly available such as the Agria gnocchi, parmesan sauce and truffle shavings.
A dish the editorial board have had the chance to enjoy and our verdict is final: it’s divine. The pairing of flavors is exquisite and of a rare finesse, such as the other dishes we’ve enjoyed: grandmother Caïus pâté and pickle, braised pollack and cabbage from Pontoise, knife-cut gilthead bream…. The work on produces is fine and dishes are perfectly seasoned. The icing on the cake? A chocolate tart with fleur de sel, served with a scoop of coffee ice cream. In other words, we’ll gladly come back!
