Flame-roasted French poultry, a friendly atmosphere and a competitive menu at unbeatable prices - you're not dreaming, you're at the Coquin rotisserie!

In the heights of Ménilmontant, the Coquin rotisserie has made its cozy little nest since the start of the new school year. Conveniently located on the corner of Rue de Ménilmontant and Rue des Amandiers, in a beautiful space with several others hidden away at the end of a lush corridor that opens onto a large room bathed in natural light, the rotisserie is sure to delight local poultry lovers.

No sooner had we arrived than we were greeted by these beautiful fowl, slowly roasting their skins on their spits. With our appetites whetted, we took a quick look at the menu. And what a pleasure it is to discover an extremely affordable menu, available at lunchtime on weekdays as well as at weekends: €10 for a starter-main course-dessert, you read that right!

And if for you, affordability means compromising on quality, think again: at Coquin, the poultry is as naughty as it is French, and as local as possible. On the menu: 6 starters, including the delicate mayonnaise egg with poultry jus, roasted vegetables of the moment or the delicious flame-roasted eggplant; 3 main courses - chicken leg, ribs or roast of the week - and 2 desserts.

On the à la carte menu, a few more pieces of bidoche, a rib and a roast beef, and several sizes of chicken made in Normandy, to be devoured according to appetite and desire: the leg (7€) featured on the menu, the half-chicken (13€) and the whole chicken (24€), all coated in mustard for a real authentic taste of grandma's cooking.

We're telling you right now: this half-chicken was one of the best birds we've had at the restaurant in a long time. Juicy, tender meat, crispy skin, a perfect little sauce, top-notch seasoning: the best of the rotisserie, accompanied by well-fried pommes grenaille (€3).

Note that on Sundays, the rotisserie offers a competitive brunch from 11am to 4pm, and we've been told that a speakeasy bar has opened in the basement of the establishment, serving a whole host of cool cocktails. In any case, if you're looking for a convivial address offering simple, healthy and tasty cuisine, Coquin is the place to be!
