Seveste is the name of the terrace-restaurant taking over the square of the Théâtre de l’Atelier. Set in Montmartre, within walking distance from the Sacred heart, discover siblings Alexis and Josselin Flocon’s lovely bistro cuisine.

No need to look for the name of the restaurant, Seveste is only available on the terrace across the Théâtre de l’Atelier. As a matter of fact, the neo-bistro takes over the Place Charles Dullin, in Paris 18th arrondissement, under the gigantic hundred-year-old lime trees. Have a seat on this lovely and picturesque square making the very charm of Paris, across the historic building of the former Théâtre Montmartre designed in 1822 by Pierre-Jacques Seveste (hence the name of the restaurant).

At Seveste, enjoy the bubbly Parisian life. Lively square, crowds of people here to attend one of the plays performed in one of the rare theaters in the 19th arrondissement still working. The deal? Have a bite after the show and keep enjoying this setting untouched by time.

At the helm, the Alexis and Josselin Flocon brothers, delighting us already at Flocon, rue Mouffetard, serving their inventive cuisine. For Seveste, they came up with 3 acts to discover depending on when you come throughout the day. For lunch, the first act starts with a light tasting session with three starters, three mains and three desserts to choose. The second act opens during the day with a simple menu to enjoy at anytime of the day. Last but not least, the third act lifts the curtain at night for some friendly cuisine based on vegetables.

So, in the evening, get no classic start, main, dessert menu but charming dishes to share. Get at least 3 dishes for two and taste a bit of everything. This is anyway what we recommend (although you should order at least 4 dishes). Choose between plant-based, fishes, meats and desserts.

As for us, we go the excellent snow pea and fresh cheese tartlet with shallot and mint, very delicious, uplifted with caviar. We also liked the raspberry wood-smoked Breton hake, served with fennel and cheese. Leek fans will get the version with Bigorre pork bacon and spicy mayonnaise. Last but not least, the free-range duck breast gravlax and pickled blackberries and marinated eggplants was delicious.

Wonderful pairings, exceptional products, we had a great time, although, you shall not be in a hurry. A slice of Brillat Savarin – a very delicious cheese – served with peach and sage condiment, and some hay floating island later, we were full.

We had a lovely time in the soft Montmartre evening, to the music of troubadours singing under the trees. A moment untouched by time with fresh and creative cuisine, this is what heaven is like.
