La Villette open-air film festival will be back from July 20 to August 21, 2022 in Paris. On the menu: a month of free movie screenings on La Villette lawn, themed on dancing!

La Villette open-air film festival is one of the greatest event in the summer. This year again, we are happy to reunite with the traditional open-air movie festival in La Villette held from July 20 to August 21, 2022, enabling us to (re)discover movie classics, new movies and unexpected gems.

Meet from Wednesday to Sunday, on the fresh grass of the park of La Villette or comfortably seated on a deckchair to borrow free of charge on the spot. Access to the open-air movie theater is limited to seats available, only deckchairs remain charged for €7 (€20 for 5), with an extra blanker. This year's theme is "Dancing".

For this new and 32nd edition, dancing comes to the La Villette lawn. From disco to ballet, from aquatic dancing to electro and tap dance, all dance styles are given pride of place.
From John Travolta and Uma Thurman's crazy twist in Pulp Fiction to Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise's waltz in Eyes Wide Shut, dancing is a universal way of expression and has delivered many cult movie scenes.

La Villette movie festival includes 25 nights to (re)discover the beauty of this art with Quentin Tarantino, Céline Sciamma, Otto Preminger, Valérie Donzelli, Jacques Demy, Stanley Kubrick, Mia Hansen-Løve, Darren Aronofsky and many more. Screenings in partnership with Paris Opera performing each Saturday and Sunday a short movie from the 3e Scène collection by the Opéra de Paris.

Furthermore, this year's edition does not forget about children with a special program on Saturday July 23: Little Cinéma d'été. On the menu, a workshop with artist Annabelle Buxton over her animated movie "On Danse!", demos and introduction to tap dance with dancer Aurélien Lehmann, short movies at the Little Ciné themed on dance. At nightfall, children can attend an open-air movie session of Wolfgang Reitherman's The Aristocast.

Last but not least, note the L'été du Canal and cruising boats will provide guided tours on the Canal de l'Ourq - right before mooring by the pitch for screenings on the silver screen. Stories and meal baskets are included.
