Each July 14, on Bastille Day, the same thing happens. The day starts early for soldiers, and for good reason! The traditional Bastille Day parade on the Champs-Elysées starts at 10 a.m. sharp! This is the occasion to discover this show and to glimpse the French President.
For this parade, traffic will be forbidden from 6:30 a.m. on a large perimeter going from Porte Maillol to Bastille! Yes, yes, a very large forbidden area! Traffic should gradually resume throughout the day.
Bastille Day 2018 program: coming soon
This year, over 125 Parisians can attend the event from the bleachers. Seats are opened to people owning the Carte Citoyen-Citoyenne de Paris. They will be seated in the Mairie de Paris bleachers, down the road, close to the presidential benches.
Last year, after the parade, people enjoyed the Champs-Elysées without cars. This year, the information is yet to be confirmed by the police headquarters!
