Parc Astérix, home of the almighty Gauls, is ready for a new season starting April 6, 2019 to January 5, 2020. Are you looking for a fun new outing with family or friends? Come enjoy yourself at this theme park that has no fewer than 40 attractions and great shows.
This year, the park keeps on innovating. After the thrilling Oziris in 2012, the family favorite in 2014 with the Idéfix forest [Dogmatix Forest], new shows in 2015 and the Discobélix in 2016, blown us away with the Pégase Express back in 2017 and this year, the park promises us many surprises: The Hôtel Cité Suspendue gets bigger to house event more guests and the park offers new attractions and many shows.
Parc Astérix novelties in 2019:
- Opening of 100 rooms at the Cité Suspendue [Hanging City]
In addition to the Hôtel des 3 Hiboux that extended, in 2018, the park revealed a new Celtic village. Made of 3 hamlets: the Village des Potiers [Potters’ Village], the Village des Artistes [Artists’ Village] and the Village des Druides [Druids’ Village], the Hanging City will blow you away. Wooden tracks on piles, big rooms for 5 guests, balcony or terrace with a view on the forest and the park, restaurants including an unlimited rotisserie buffet, you’ll be very happy.
- Attention Menhir: the new 4D attraction by StudioIdéfix
StudioIdéfix, new 300-seat theater, invites you to discover a new 4D show. The plot: Caesar sends Centurion Peupaplus from the Babaorum trench camp for the MDR operation (Mission Dissimulation Repression). Careful though, menhirs may fall.
After a preshow made of shadow puppets, put your 3D glasses on and while seated on dynamic chairs (there are also seats that don't move on the first row for those who don't enjoy moves), let's dive for 10 minutes in the universe of this new Astérix adventure. Wind, slaps, serpents, smell of the forest... Everything is here and extremely well done so that we can fully experience this story. Lights twinkling in the movie also twinkle in the room.
The Parc Asterix (finally) bets on technology and it's a success. To try absolutely this year.
- The Aventure Astérix (opening in June 2019)
Discover the new interactive tour in tribute to Astérix two fathers: Alberto Uderzo and René Goscinny.
- Meetings with characters
Moreover, for its 30th anniversary, the park varies its show and street activity offerings. Each zone has its share of characters to meet: Romans, Egyptians, VIkings and Greeks are in.
- The Gallic Parade
For its 30th anniversary, Parc Asterix launches its Défilé Gaulois / Gallic Parade, a parade including the characters of the comics. Asterix, Obelix, Getafix, Panacea, Vitalstatistix, Impedimenta and even the wild boars are in, standing on a drakkar while the Roman Centurions surround the boat, dancing with music.
- New show: "Chronos: magie et illusions" [Chronos: Magic and Illusions]
Magician Mickaël and his creature Cléa blow us away. For 20 minutes, they complete several magic tricks including appearances and disappearances, shrinking and levitations... defying the laws of nature. It's rather classic but it always works. Children will be left in awe all the more so as the magician will make some of them take part in the show...
If you didn't test these last year's novelties, you should:
- New show: “Du rififi dans la basse-cour” [Rumble in the farmyard] (from June)
A new show is coming this year in a renovated 200-seat outdoor venue. “Du rififi dans la basse-cour” is an animal show staging a Roman soldier accidentally catapulted in the Gallic village at the foot of Assurancetourix’s tree, the village bard. Farm animals (pigs, hens, ducks, rabbits, pigeons…) will make sure to scare him off in a thousand ways!
- Viking Aerobar: the Aerolaf
This summer, a new and unique experience expects you at Parc Astérix. Set in the Viking area, in full heart of the Park, a new generation and rotary bar promises a unique and vertiginous experience. After choosing you drink at the bar, you will set off of the ground to quench your thirst with your head in the cloud, perched 35-m above the ground. Take a seat among the 16 seats of the atypical bar and enjoy the breathtaking view this experience offers.
- Pégase Express
After Discobélix in 2016, the Parc Astérix opens a new family rides in June 2017, the Pégase Express. Children from one meter tall can enjoy this rollercoaster never seen before in Europe offering visitors a crazy travel across the antique world featuring wonderful bends, descents and impressive ascents.
