Less well known than the Journées du Patrimoine, the Fête de la Science is a fascinating event! Over several days, universities and science museums open their doors to you to learn more about the world around us, from chemistry to physics, space and archaeology! For this 2023 edition, we're heading for the Val d'Oise, in the Île-de-France region, and its Musée d'Archéologie en Pays de France, located in Louvres, on October 8, 2023.
For the occasion, the Archéa museum offers an opportunity to learn more about this little-known field, which unearths incredible discoveries every year and gives us a better understanding of Humanity and History. During this week-long cultural event, take advantage of the presence of scientists and professionals atworkshops and fun activities for the whole family!
Opened in September 2010, Archéa is a little more than a museum: it's a regional project developed back in the 80s, with the aim of conserving, studying and promoting the archaeological heritage of the Pays de France, the name given to the natural region north of Paris, near Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport. Surprisingly, its setting is a very contemporary building, yet it houses collections of remains from the region, from prehistory to the 18th century. Everything is in place for young and old alike to enjoy their discoveries, with videos, models and exhibits.
