To welcome the Games in style this summer 2024, many museums, cultural venues, town halls... are turning their cultural programming towards sport. So, this summer, head to Le Centquatre for a decathlon that's as athletic as it is artistic!

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, shortly before the opening ceremony of the long-awaited Paris 2024 Olympic Games - followed in August by the Paralympic Games - the starting gun goes off at Le Centquatre, in the 19th arrondissement, for an event as sporty as it is fun, aimed at the very young.

For this festive day of sport, Le Centquatre has invited choreographers, stage directors and visual artists... to propose an artistic variation on the ten emblematic decathlon events. As the name suggests, decathlon athletes compete in ten events, including a 100 m sprint, long jump, high jump, 400 m and 100 m hurdles, as well as discus throwing, pole vaulting, javelin throwing and a 1,500 m finish. At Centquatre, these events have been revisited, combining artistic practice and sport, so that children can try their hand at everything. At the end of the day, this great artistic Decathlon will conclude with a DJ set.

The good news is that this great sporting celebration is free and open to all, so see you at Le Centquatre, Paris, on Saturday, July 6, 2024?
