For more than 30 years, the Fête de la Science has been in full swing every year for ten days in October. So, this year, a host of venues are offering conferences, exclusive events, workshops, laboratory visits and other discoveries through the prism of science, in libraries, universities and historic sites in and around the capital, from October 3 to 13, 2025.
There's no shortage of events in the Val-d'Oise region, particularly in Cergy, the department's prefecture. For Gallo-Roman enthusiasts, it's a chance to discover a site unique in the Île-de-France region: the Gallo-Roman sanctuary of Les Vaux-de-la-Celle.
Situated in a valley in the lower Seine valley, the archaeological site at Genainville preserves traces of a Gallo-Roman settlement with monumental remains. Discovered in 1935 and listed as a Monument Historique, the site continues to be explored today.
